Pros & Cons

Pros & Cons

  • Extremely durable tyre that'll last a long time.
  • The tyre has a good grip to keep upright on slippery surfaces in the city.

The Schwalbe Lugano II Endurance tyre is a very good tyre for a commuter or someone who does a lot of city riding, but this tyre isn't really a true road bike tyre. That's mostly because of its extra reinforced tread, and because it's a wire bead tyre. All this makes the tyre stronger and more durable, but does mean the tyre compromises on weight and rolling resistance. That's why it's an ideal tyre for your sports bike, fixie, or if you prefer durable tyres for your road bike and don't ride any races. The Schwalbe Lugano II Endurance tyre is an all-rounder for both sporty cyclists and road cyclists who aren't looking to break any speed records.

Think a fine tyre, hard to fit errug tight

- J.P. 11 October 2025

Ended up not using, won't get off on the road in case of punctures. Fine for touring around the house

Pros & Cons

Excellent wear resistance
Price
Nearly mountable so tight

I already had the Schwalbe Lugano II on my bike and I was very satisfied with it. And now again!

Nothing wrong with that

- Tom 15 February 2024

I demand quite a lot from my bike (fixed-gear bike for the city) and therefore always opt for the slightly more expensive options. This to my complete satisfaction.

Pros & Cons

good quality
rigid but not too rigid

Now also robust ?

- Robert 18 September 2023

After several Schwalbe Lugano II tyres, now the Endurance version has been fitted. Indeed, the previous tyres rode well, but it always didn't last very long. The onset of twists, flat spots and worn tread was just too fast (approx. 1000km). Hopefully the Endurance vesion will combine the good features with more robustness. Otherwise, it's exit-Schwalbe as far as I'm concerned.

Pros & Cons

Easy to mount
Not expensive
Rides well
