Zipp 404 Firecrest Carbon Clincher

Excellent service. Immediate improvement in my speeds once I fitted these wheels, and braking is very good - at least in the dry (no intention of going out in the wet, I have other wheels for that). Also they look great. Very pleased.

I had looked around at many of the mid depth aero wheels and with the filtered down tech from the NSW range (brake track) I was impressed with the spec. Upon arrival, the wheels were easy to fit and instantly felt an increase in speed on the flat and particularly downhill. I was concerned moving from shallow climbing rims that there may be a negative impact on climbing, but as these carry the speed in to the climbs you continue with momentum. Of course they won’t be as quick up the steeper climbs but I don’t feel the need to swap the wheels as they make up more time on the flat and downhills. The braking is very good, although not rode in the wet as yet. Overall, a great wheelset which extremely impressed with. The service from Mantel was spot on too!

Great looking. Fast. Best price online, period. Not very light....same weight as the cheap DT Swiss P1800s that shipped with the pictured Canyon....but a fantastic upgrade for the money. Braking is excellent, but the supplied Tangente Platinum Pro Evo brake pads are noisy (regardless of setup) and have extremely poor durability. Black Prince are better. Very happy with my purchase.

They roll fast and the hubs are super smooth. No where near as stiff as my lightweight meilensteins and half a kilo heavier but more comfortable and a third of the price. Braking is almost on par with alloy brake tracks. Very pleased with these wheels.

A good upgrade on the previous 404's. The braking surface is significantly improved, far more bite when braking. The extra width also seeks to help with stability at higher speeds and cross winds.
