Not recommended. kaput after 3 bike rides

- Ruben, 25 December, 2021

After just 1 ride, the zips felt very stiff. This remained even after thorough washing. After the third ride, the right shoe's zip came off completely, rendering the shoes unusable.

Pros & Cons

warm
poor quality zip

Goodbye shoe covers

- Aurelien, 16 December, 2021

Thermal comfort far superior to shoe covers. Easy to clean Affordable price for those on a budget However, be careful with the size, I usually wear size 44/45, the 46 was too small, so I had to return them and take a size 47! This is my first pair of winter shoes, so I can only compare them with shoe covers. But I think the value for money is very good.

Value for money

- Paolo, 6 February, 2021

Aesthetically beautiful shoes. Comfortable in fit, they have a double closure: external zip and internal elastic lace. However, the lace fastening clip interferes with the zip fastening. The upper part remains loose. A lace velcro would be necessary to tighten it. Stiff, well treaded sole that does not interfere with the attachment to the pedal. They keep out the non-intense cold (4-5 degrees) only up to a couple of hours of use. For me, this is my first pair of winter shoes and I think the value for money is fair.

They sit like slippers!

- Sigrid, 5 January, 2021

Lovely winter shoes for cycling! The size chart on Mantel's site is ideal, I had the right size in 1x. The shoes are easy to close/fasten. After use, they are easy to clean with a damp cloth. The only downside is that they are quite tight at the very top; my legs are really not thick and I really have to put some force into the last 2 cm of the zip to get them closed. Once closed, this does not bother me.

Unbeatable value for money

- David, 14 December, 2020

Firstly, I was impressed with Mantel’s service, ordered on Friday evening & arrived on Monday morning, superb considering free delivery. The boots are amazing, fab cold protection & very comfy. I am a size 11 & ordered my genuine size, quite snug to get on but once you master the fastening, it’s easy enough. The inner layer provides great warmth & the outer cover is totally wind proof. Far superior to my normal shoe/shoe cover combo. Haven’t tested the waterproofing yet but went out in 8 degree cold & my feet were toasty. The sole is rigid & power transfer to the pedals is great. Will be recommending these to all my cycling buddies. I challenge you to find a better boot for less than £110.
