Park Tool assembly paste prevents friction in threaded and press connections. The assembly paste ensures easy assembly and disassembly of bike parts. It's ideal for bottom brackets and pedal screw threads, headset cups and seat posts.
When should I use which type of grease?
Assembly paste is not transparent, as it contains small ceramic particles. This keeps screws tight while you'll still be able to remove them when you need to. Carbon paste is designed especially for carbon, which is more vulnerable to over-tightening. Carbon paste ensures that your parts remain securely fastened, even with low tightening torques. Grease that is specifically intended for rotating parts and sealing against water and dirt also exists. You can also use this to mount your parts, but it doesn't provide extra grip like the assembly paste and carbon paste.
How do I use assembly grease?
Assembly grease is applied to the component to be assembled and to the threads of bolts. You can apply it with a brush, straight from the tube or with your fingers. Basically, you use grease on all threaded bolts and the following parts are also important to apply assembly grease: saddle, stem, pedals, thru axles. Use the assembly grease after you have loosened a component. It's also advisable to loosen your parts to be checked once in a while, then clean them and apply new assembly grease.

Great product.

Excellent product. Easy to apply. The only drawback I can think of is that, because of the colour, it is sometimes hard to see exactly where it is, so you sometimes use a little too much.

Top assembly grease for threads
- Julian 16 August 2023
For me, the perfect assembly grease for threads, especially for the cassette mount and BSA bottom bracket cups. It has also helped me to eliminate annoying clicking noises.
