The Look Keo Blade Carbon Cr are a fantastic piece of engineering when it comes to pedals. First off, the large surface area stand out. This provides the rider with a stable platform under all conditions. Striking also is the new design of the pedal: the closed lower portion of the pedal should make it more aerodynamic than the regular Keo 2 Max.

The Look Keo Blade Carbon Cromoly pedals also no longer use metal springs, but carbon plates instead. Carbon has the great property of flexing back into shape. By altering the composition of the carbon, Look has made three different versions: 12, 16 or 20 Nm. 12 Nm offers the least resistance upon (dis)engaging the pedal, whereas 20 Nm offers the most.

Note that this kind of pedal doesn't allow you to adjust the spring tension using an Allen key after. If you're new to clipless pedals, then get yourself adjustable pedals at first. This allows you to get used to (dis)engaging from the pedals, and you can incrementally increase the spring tension on the cleats as you get used to it.
