A fast saddle for highly flexible riders
The Fizik Arione R3 Open saddle has been designed to be more comfortable than the standard Fizik Arione R3. It has a cut-out which provides pressure relief on soft tissue areas, which you will feel mainly when you're in a deep sitting position. The deeper your cycling posture, the more pressure you will experience while pedalling, and this cut-out prevents that. The Arione saddles are slightly longer than most saddles to give you more space to move around during a climb or short effort.
According to Fizik, their Arione R3 Open is intended for Snake riders, that is, cyclists with a flexible back who can ride deeper in the drops and who, generally, need a narrow saddle. The Fizik Arione R3 Open is a lightweight and stiff saddle; these characteristics are achieved by the composite nylon-injected shell, the Wing Flex technology and the Kium rail.
Great freedom of movement
The Fizik Arione R3 Open saddle has a flat rear section which makes it very suitable for people who sit still on their bikes and do not rock their hips while cycling. As this saddle is flat, it provides them with better support than a round saddle, as well as great freedom of movement. The shape of this saddle makes it suitable for people with a highly flexible spine. People with high spinal flexibility have no problems with pelvic rotation, so they do not need extra support to be able to sit in a cycling position. In addition, this saddle has a recess to provide pressure relief for those who are prone to experience pressure on their seat.
All in all, the Fizik Arione R3 Open saddle is a saddle for the fast, sporty racer who is looking for optimal support!
The Kium rail is made of an aluminium alloy and provides a good connection to your seat post.

The side sections of this saddle are slightly flexible to increase the level of comfort of this type of saddle. The Wing Flex technology provides more space for your legs, allowing you to exert power more easily and efficiently.

Narrow saddle with plenty of room to move
This saddle is nice and narrow, which means that on me (female, seat bone width 11 cm) it does not cause friction and blisters in the groin, which I suffer from with many other saddles. The material is smooth enough to move back and forth, which I like. Because the saddle is flat, you can also choose multiple positions. Nice for variety. Saddle gives no pressure on the crotch, the opening does its job. I still have to get used to the hardness, but after taking a break, the saddle sits fine again. I was always afraid of harder saddles, but it does keep you from sinking into the saddle, which prevents chafing at the groin. This is a keeper!

What a relief to have a saddle that fits your butt. It is a hard saddle but it sits so much better. No more glimmer of saddle pain.

Top saddle for a sporty bike position
This is the first saddle where I can easily find an ideal position. Because the saddle is long and flat, you can easily slide from front to back. On other saddles, I could usually only find one good position. My seat bone width is 95mm and weighs 65kg, this saddle gives me good support. Because the saddle is narrow, it does not hinder pedalling. I previously had an Arione cx, this Arione R3 open gives less pressure, you notice this difference especially on longer rides. The saddle is really good if you adopt a somewhat deeper sitting position, if you sit upright the saddle can feel a bit too hard.
