Description

Description

Extremely reliable power measurement in your Shimano SPD-SL pedals? With the Favero Assioma DUO-Shi it is possible! These powermeter axles can easily and quickly be mounted in a Shimano SPD-SL body, providing you with all the known functions of Favero and the reliable and popular SPD-SL system.

Reliable measurement
The Assioma DUO-Shi power meter pedal axles display your wattage very accurately. Weather conditions do not affect the measurement, as the DUO-Shi automatically compensates for temperature differences between -10 and +60 degrees Celsius.

Instantaneous Angular Velocity
Favero Assioma DUO-Shi powermeter pedals measure angular velocity while pedalling with a built-in gyroscope. The technique they use to measure this is called Favero IAV, or Instantaneous Angular Velocity. Thanks to this technique, these pedals can very accurately determine the total power delivered, the left-right ratio and the effective pedal stroke. The Favero Assioma DUO-Shi power meter pedals are therefore an ideal partner during your training sessions, regardless of the situation!

Suitable for all types of chainrings
The Assioma DUO-Shi measures exactly how fast you turn when pedalling. Differences in speed and pedalling motion are also measured. This makes the DUO-Shi extremely suitable for both round and oval chainrings.

Internal battery
The pedals use an internal rechargeable battery that lasts up to 50 hours. While charging, the pedals can also be left on the bike: not only is the included charging cable two metres long, the magnetic attachment means you don't have to keep looking for the charging port.

Technology

Note! The Q-factor (distance between the outsides of the cranks) of the pedals is higher than you are probably used to. This means that your feet will probably be further apart than with your regular pedals.
• Q-Factor with PD-R7000/R550/R540 pedals 64 mm
• Q-Factor with PD8000/6800 pedals 65 mm

• Favero Assioma DUO-Shi Power meter axles for both your left and right pedal

Assembly

The Assioma DUO-Shi consists only of the axles, so you need a separate pedal body to use this powermeter on your bike. If you have compatible Shimano SPD-SL pedals, you can continue cycling with your own pedals; only the axle needs to be replaced. No extra or special tools are needed, although a torque wrench is always handy. For clear mounting instructions, see the mounting video.

User tips

If you want to improve your performance, you can train more specifically with a powermeter. A power meter is much more accurate than for example a heart rate meter, this is because your heart rate is influenced by outside factors such as temperature or fatigue.

Best power meter for this price

- Alwin 27 August 2023

Very satisfied with this powermeter. Nice to be able to use existing pedals, easy to switch between bikes (itt crankset), double measurement is top (At first, I was always on 55-45, a few rides focused on that and you immediately notice that you pedal better. Seems really ideal for rehabilitation e.g.). QFactor is a bit tricky, I have wide hips and squat with my legs wide apart, but I had to move the cleats completely inwards to maintain comfort (normally they were always completely inwards). By now I'm really used to it and actually like it better (no more heel against frame either). Battery life is good enough and charging is quick and easy, build quality also seems really top notch. Of course, it's still an expensive toy and you may wonder whether it's really necessary if you don't train very seriously, but I still find it an addition.

Pros & Cons

Easy installation
Easy switching between bikes
Relatively good price
Works great
QFactor not suitable for everyone

Really good wattage pedals.

- Thor-Björn 16 June 2023

Must say this was really good. Was a little worried about wider q-value but nothing I notice. I ride several different bikes and spin bikes so I am used to different feel. Buy if you want to continue using shimano and are looking for "cheap" and super good watt pedals.
