The Castelli Espresso short cycling shorts are made from Espresso Doppio fabric, known for its comfort and perfect fit. This fabric is specially designed to fit to the skin without pinching, allowing the shorts to move with the body while cycling. The Progetto X2 Air chamois ensures comfort during long rides (+180 minutes), ideal for temperatures ranging from 15 to 35°C. The combination of non-waterproof and breathable materials makes these trousers perfect for hot, dry days.
Extra features and finishing
These cycling shorts feature stretch mesh braces that provide extra ventilation and comfort. The rugged leg finish with silicone gripper keeps the trousers firmly in place while keeping the sharp line of the tan intact. Although the trousers have no reflective elements, a handy pocket has been added at the back for extra storage space. All these details contribute to an excellent riding experience, where functionality and style go hand in hand.

Fine trousers, but with mediocre chamois.
The trousers fit great. Great fit. Super elastic, but you don't feel it. The same goes for the bib straps...top. Personally, I also really like the pocket on the back, so you don't have to put your heavy mobile phone in pockets on shirt. It's very personal, but I find the chamois very moderate. It is too thin in my opinion and it is too short. From bike, you can see your noble parts prominently, because the chamois is thus too short.

Tall people should order 2 sizes bigger
According to the size chart, I would need a size L so I ordered an XL. But for someone who is 1.92m, the bib straps are very tight which compromises the family jewellery. Also, the legs are very tight if you have big thighs. It's all just fine, but next time I'll just order an XXL.

Fine trousers, but not perfect
Fine trousers with a chamois that is the same thickness everywhere and has no weird ridges and thickening that can irritate on a long ride. It really is an Italian model though: if you are slim but tall, the shoulder straps are a bit on the short side, not geared to tall Dutchmen. It doesn't really bother me on the bike though, only when standing upright. I also noticed in Mantel's shop that just about all the trousers on the rack had broken stitching where the shoulder straps were stitched to the front of the trousers. So this seems to be a vulnerable point when putting them on and taking them off. This is why I ordered mine online and am careful when putting the trousers on and off. I have only used it once, so I cannot say anything about the durability of the trousers. First use was good, no annoying seams or pressure points I could detect.

You won't regret this
Great trousers that may be a bit more expensive but that makes all the difference. The chamois supports fine on short and long ( +150 km)
