The Bontrager Aeolus Pro 3 TLR wheelset is a great upgrade for your road bike. There is nothing better than the properties of carbon wheels and the experience of riding a carbon wheelset! Aeolus Pro 3 TLR is a full carbon tubeless ready wheelset which combines aerodynamics, longevity and a low weight. It’s a wheel with pro-level performances that doesn’t break the bank. Combined with reliable braking power this 35mm wheelset is suitable for every rider.
• The D3 Dual Directional Design rim profile for lower air resistance
• Tubeless Ready (TLR) rims enable a quick switch to Tubeless systems
• 35 mm OCLV Carbon rim (27 mm outer width, 19.5 mm inner width), DT Aerolite spokes and Alpina spoke nipples
• OCLV Pro carbon for an ideal balance of weight, stiffness and longevity
Carbon Care Wheel Loyalty Programme
Bontrager knows like no other that buying a new carbon wheelset or a new bike with carbon wheels is no small investment. That’s why Trek/Bontrager set up the Carbon Care Wheel Loyalty programme. This shows Bontrager’s complete and utter confidence in its products and their quality.
When do I qualify for the Carbon Care Wheel Loyalty programme?
You’ll automatically qualify for this programme after becoming the first owner of a Bontrager full carbon wheel and when you bought this after November 1, 2018 in our webshop or one of our brick-and-mortar stores. This also holds true for Bontrager full carbon wheels, which some Trek bicycles come with.
Note:This programme doesn’t include aluminium wheels with carbon rim construction, such as the Aura and the Aeolus Comp.
What does the Carbon Care Wheel Loyalty programme entail?
If your wheel gets damaged within 2 year after purchase, we’ll look at replacement or repair free of charge (excluding possible shipping costs). This can be damage as a result of crashing, but also by accidentally hitting the sidewalk.
How to submit my Bontrager full carbon wheel for repair or replacement?
You can rely on our stores or our webshop if you have a damaged wheel. As soon as we receive the wheel, we’ll ship it to Trek. Subsequently, Trek will decide what option to go with, depending on the type of wheel and the severity of the damage:
• Repairing the damaged rim (including spokes, decals, nipples where needed) and manufacturer’s rebuilding of the original hubs.
• A complete wheel replacement.
• Tubeless Ready (TLR) rims enable a quick switch to Tubeless systems
• 35 mm OCLV Carbon rim (27 mm outer width, 19.5 mm inner width), DT Aerolite spokes and Alpina spoke nipples
• OCLV Pro carbon for an ideal balance of weight, stiffness and longevity

• Cassette remover
• (possibly a torque wrench)
Installing a cassette on a wheel is easy if you have the right tools. If you purchase a cassette remover with a Shimano fit, you will be able to mount either a Shimano or Sram cassette on your rear wheel. Please note! For a Campagnolo cassette you need the Campagnolo tool. If you have a Shimano 9/10-speed cassette, first slide the spacer over the body. Then you place the cassette on the body. This can only be done in one way because of the fit of the body. Finally you turn the washer straight on by hand and tighten it with the cassette tool. Cassettes aren’t easily overtightened, but if you want you can use a torque wrench for this.

• For Shimano 9/10-speed, do not forget to mount the spacer first before installing the cassette
• Make sure the rim tape is stuck well in the rim

Strava tells me these wheels are an improvement
- David Watkin 22 June 2019
I have only used the wheels on 2 occasions and both times Strava has told me that my ride was easier than my normal effort. The wheels look very good on the bike and they have given me an extra boost.
