The Marathon Racer is the lightest model in Schwalbe's Marathon family. It is made of the SpeedGrip compound for the best possible handling combined with low weight. And it offers good puncture protection thanks to the RaceGuard sidewalls.
RaceGuard anti-puncture layer
Schwalbe's RaceGuard puncture protection consists of two layers of nylon crossing each other. Thus, it doesn't make the tyre much heavier while still offering effective protection.
SpeedGrip compound
The SpeedGrip universal rubber compound is by far the most widely used. It offers excellent grip and speed and has a long lifespan, even with frequent use. While it may be impossible to find the absolutely perfect balance between all desired properties, with the SpeedGrip compound Schwalbe comes very close indeed!
