Good no-nonsense gravel tyre

- Jeroen, 25 August, 2025

I use the Race Kings in the 50mm version as a gravel tyre. Easy to fit and well airtight. No loss of speed compared to the 40mm tyres that were standard on my Trek Checkpoint ALR. More comfort and grip, though. Recommended.

Fine tyre for the way I use it.

- Dick, 26 September, 2024

I gravel quite a lot and therefore also drive quite a lot of asphalt km, despite that quite long lifespan.

Pros & Cons

Old tyre only wore out after 4500 km.
This, despite also quite a lot of asphalt km's.

Good tyres for dry weather!

- Eelco, 7 June, 2022

I hesitated for a long time to buy special tyres for summer. To save my current tyres (with relatively high tread) and use them again from autumn. I was looking for tyres suitable for dry conditions and also for road use. After some research and comparisons I went for these Continental tyres, I always ride on Schwalbe so wanted to try something different. After a few rides, I really like them, on the road they are quiet tyres because of the tread and on dry forest surfaces I experience a lot of grip. So great tyres, not yet tested in wet weather, don't expect these tyres to be much use in wet weather either haha.

Pros & Cons

Little rolling resistance
Quiet
Strong grip
Mounting was not easy

Light running belt for dry, at most wet surfaces.

- Kees, 30 March, 2022

Initially, it did not succeed in fitting the tyre without high clearance, eventually it turned out to be necessary to inflate it to 4 bar, upon which it plopped onto the (tubeless) rim just fine (though using inner tube).
