The Ergon SM Pro saddle is the highest quality saddle in the Ergon SM line. This saddle combines maximum stiffness with ultimate comfort. Unsurprisingly, this saddle is the favourite of many pro mountain bikers.
The saddle top consists of extra stiff microfiber. Even when it’s raining, you’re assured of good grip on your saddle.
The padding of this saddle is the result of years of scientific experiments. The bottom layer of the padding is made of Orthopedic AirCell Foam. THis foam is very comfortable and adjusts its shape to your body. Resting on top of this frame are OrthoCell pads, which supports the body parts experiencing the most pressure.
The shell of this saddle is made of carbon. This keeps the weight low and the saddle stiff. This stiff shell, combined with titanium rails, result in all energy produced by pedaling is converted to speed. All this, naturally, without compromising on comfort.
This saddle has a flat rear part, making it highly suitable for riders who remain stationary on their saddle while they ride and whose hips don’t rock from side to side at all. The flat shape provides more support than a round saddle would for these riders.
This is a semi-flat saddle, meaning that the saddle is flat at the front, and raised a little at the back. The shape makes it particularly suitable for riders with a moderate degree of flexibility in their spine. This has to do with how easily these riders can rotate their pelvis: they might need a little extra support when riding upright, but can manage on their own when riding on the drops.
This saddle has a cut-out and alleviates pressure for those who often experience discomfort or pressure to their soft tissue areas.
