The charm of an old venerable saddle is back. In the year 1979 it is produced for the first time. The Colt Brooks was in the 80s very popular among long-distance cyclists, bike couriers and fixed-gear riders. The copper rivets are stamped by hand and the cut edges of the leather seat make this saddle to a real example of handcrafted art, comes with spanner.

A long long time ago Brooks saddles were produced with small rivets. Pro cyclists would let their saddle get a large copper rivet finish to increase its lifespan. This is because the larger rivets have a better pressure distribution over the leather. This "upgrade" was used by Brooks years ago. A poorly placed hammer hit can cause irreparable damage to the leather. This makes it of great importance that the Brooks saddles are produced with the utmost care. Each rivet on each Special model is carefully hammered manually by craftsmen.

I just like the way it looks

The Brooks B304 Colt is perhaps an odd choice for a 64 year old commuter but it shares enough features with its cherished B17 cousin that's graced my touring bike for a decade to make it worth a try for the journey to work. It needs breaking in of course but what do you expect from a Colt?

I purchased The Brooks colt saddle for steel frame road bike .Campag Athena 11 speed silver groupset nitto m190 euro 80 handlebars Nitto S83 seatpost need I say more.

I just like the way it looks
