Cubierta Continental Cross King + Race King ProTection

The Continental Cross King with Race King is a very fast tyre combination for dry to slightly wet cross-country trails.

With the Cross King on the front wheel you have enough grip for extremely precise steering. The higher studs on the sides of the tread provide plenty of grip in the corners and the open stud profile ensures that the tyre does not easily become clogged up with dirt and mud. The Race King on the rear wheel is made for traction and speed, and the studded tread is also designed for this. However, although the Race King rolls extremely fast, the tyre reaches its limit more quickly in wet conditions.

Finally, with this tyre combination there is no need to fear a puncture. Thanks to the ProTection protection layer, you have excellent protection against cuts.

ProTection
Also called the fourth layer. This technology maintains speed and grip through the Black Chili Compound, but above all gives a lot of protection against punctures. The Race King and Cross King ProTection have a carcass of three times 180 tpi, with an extra layer on the sidewall. The ProTection technology has the additional feature of making the tyre Tubeless Ready. The Tubeless Ready bead is the perfect base for uncomplicated and easy tyre mounting.

Black Chile compound
A secret recipe for making the compound. The soul of the tyre, as they call it at Continental. A mix of basic raw materials that determines rolling resistance and grip. The tyres with Black Chili compound are from Continental's top segment. High grip and low rolling resistance are driving characteristics of this type of tyre.
