excellent clinchers, tried both 28mm TL version (very smooth) and classic, I have punctured (due to pinching) with the latter only 1 time in 2 years, by the way the day after mounting them, then stop!

I have been cycling for 20 years and ride 10,000 km a year. For years I rode Schwalbe Ultremo (now Schwalbe One) and GP 4000 and had +- 2 punctures a year. Since about 2 years I ride GP 5000 and never had so many punctures ! On average after 1000 to 2000 km. Very quickly cracks appear in the tire which fill up with small stones. Also little grip in wet weather. For me this is a highly overrated tire and I have switched back to Schwalbe One.

I think the 5000 has had an update. Previous set of 25 mm fell as 28 mm on the same rim and were difficult to get over the rim the first time. With this 28 mm it was actually very easy and the size is exactly right.

Only once disappointed by the GP5000, but that was due to a defect in the tire. Good longevity despite high rider weight. Very good tire. Easier to mount on a 28 than a 25.

The tire did not last as long as expected. Max thousand kilometers lasted in dry weather. Ridden in wet weather, rear tire was full of small bits of damage,some through the casing. Not the tire with the best experience for me.

I have had many 4000 s (II) tires and rode them in all weather conditions. Good tires, punctures on average once a year and perfect grip. The 5000 is a total disappointment. Every other week there is a puncture, they wear out very fast and in wet weather they slip in turns. I would hate to go downhill with them in wet weather.

They roll great and after 5000km have not had a flat, they do wear a little harder but you can't expect everything in a tire.

Putting them on is done by hand, fit well and ride fine. Unfortunately due to a lot of glass 2nd time riding already flat, but then it is nice not to have to struggle to get the tire off and on the rim (width 28).

Could replace front and rear 2x in three months due to deep cuts through the kevlar! Absolutely not puncture resistant and durable. My previous standard conti grand prix (so not the 5000) lasted for years!

Very fine and very good tire. Especially in (sharp) corners it performs very well and much better than other quality tires. Only one big disadvantage is that they are really hard to mount. I like them better than the schwalbe one. But I still ride the one now because the gp5000 are really hard to mount on my rims, and with a flat on the road you really don't want that. I hope continental will improve that part. In terms of performance, I think the gp5000 is great.

I have been trying different tires for years, but like continental 5000 g p I have never found any, the best even for the Rolling Resistance site. I don't give 5 stars because you can always improve !

This 5000S in 28 replaces a 4000 S in 25 at the rear, with which we managed 2000km without a puncture. Although the 25 was a big cutter, the 28's balloon is slightly larger. Nevertheless, it seems easier to ride, especially on nice roads, and offers greater comfort (normal given the size difference) with a little more grip. After 115 km, the wear seems more pronounced. Which leads me to believe that we'll be doing fewer km. For the record, the crew and bike weigh 130kg. Inflated to 7.5 with latex chamber.

I was in need of new tires because my previous set of GP5000 had worn out. I doubted for a long time whether skinwall would fit my bike. But I gave it a try otherwise you never know. I am very happy with the new look (see pictures) and trusted GP5000 tires.

After 1000 km I notice deformation in the tire. Both in height and width. And yes it lies well on the rim and checked with different tubes. Seems like less care is taken in the production process. Been riding conti for 10+ years and also the 4 seasons which are a lot better.

Have now done 2 dry rides with the tires. Previously I had the Schwalbe One 30mm. These Continentals in 28 seem to have lower rolling resistance. They feel very reliable when cornering. I really like the looks of the brown skinwall. Nicer even than the standard skinwall color you often find.

First impression positive: coats are light, have low rolling resistance and look good. After 200 km then the disillusionment: crack in the side flank at low speed on smooth asphalt. This should not happen with a tire in this price range.
