Thanks to Exo Protection in the sidewall of the tyre, this Maxxis Ikon MTB tyre is highly resistant to punctures. Exo Protection is a wear-resistant protective layer on the sidewalls of the tyre. This makes it virtually impossible for thorns or sharp stones to pierce the tyre.
Maxxis 3C Triple compound mountain technology consists of a harder, more durable base layer and two softer top layers to optimise traction and stability. Maxxis offers three different types of 3C Triple compound mountain technology: Maxx Speed, Maxx Terra and Maxx Grip.
EXO Protection
A material that is highly resistant to cuts and extreme wear has been added to the sidewalls of this tyre. This tightly woven fabric is lightweight and very flexible, so it does not affect the tyre's performance. Choose tyres with EXO protection for exceptionally rocky, treacherous trails where the risk of sidewall cuts or damage is very high.
Tubeless Ready
Tubeless tyres provide many benefits to the cyclist: the ability to ride at a lower tyre pressure, which improves grip and traction; lower rolling resistance compared to a clincher tyre; and a lower chance of punctures. Maxxis Tubeless Ready (TR) tyres have the benefits of a UST tubeless tyre without the weight increase.

Very fine tire , very good grip in corners both with low and somewhat higher air pressure.
First put the tire on the rim and pump it up. Then deflate, put a small wire in the valve and fill it with liquid. Grease the valve a bit otherwise you won't be able to get the valve off properly afterwards because of the liquid. Rotate the tire a little and ride on.
