The Assos Mille GT Indoor S11 bib short is for you if you prefer to train indoors during the winter but don’t want to compromise on the comfort for which the GT range has been renowned for years. The GT S11 bib shorts are particularly popular because they are comfortable, breathable and built to last for years - but there is one season in which they don’t perform as well as in the other three: winter. To solve this, Assos has now adapted everything you love about the GT range for indoor training, so you will be comfortable even while racing on Zwift in the colder months.
Despite the name "Indoor", these shorts also perform excellently in the hottest summer conditions outdoors. If you use them then and there, do remember to apply sun cream under the ultra-light leg panels, as these are very thin specifically for added ventilation.
The construction combines QUARTZ fabric – which is also used in the regular GT S11 bib shorts – with targeted panels of open-weave POLSTAR fabric. Together, these two fabrics blend years of reliability and durability in contact-sensitive areas with exceptional lightness, breathability and cooling on the leg panels. The bib straps have also been adjusted to be lighter; they are made of perforated mesh for maximum cooling airflow. Plus, the GT S11 chamois features a breathable and cooling Sundeck section at the front – precisely where shock-absorbing support isn’t needed but extra airflow is more than welcome.

- The bib short is also suitable for the hottest summer conditions on the road.
- The bib short can be combined with a summer skin layer and the Sweat Blockers P1 for the coolest indoor setup.
- The bib short is not suitable for cold conditions, indoors or outdoors, because the open-weave panels offer very little insulation.
- As the open-structure leg panels offer little sun protection, you should use sun cream when cycling in bright sunlight.
- Apply sun cream under the open-weave leg panels when cycling outdoors in bright sunshine.
- Wash the shorts on a low spin cycle and avoid the tumble dryer to keep the POLSTAR panels and the fit in good condition for as long as possible.
- Pair the shorts with the Sweat Blockers P1 during intense indoor sessions to keep sweat off your hands.
Can I also wear these indoor bib shorts outdoors?
Yes, although their name may suggest otherwise, these bib shorts also perform excellently in the hottest summer conditions outdoors. Do make sure to use sun cream under the open-structure leg panels, as they offer little sun protection.
What is the difference between this Indoor version and the regular Mille GT S11 bib shorts?
This Indoor version combines the QUARTZ fabric of the standard GT S11 with open-weave POLSTAR panels on the legs and lighter, perforated mesh bib straps. This enhances its breathability and cooling and makes the shorts ideal for indoor training as well as outdoor training on the hottest summer days.
Do I need sun cream when wearing these shorts?
We recommend applying sun cream for outdoor use in bright sunshine. Assos has designed the ultra-light, open-weave leg panels to be very thin for excellent ventilation, and so they offer little protection from the sun.
