The Mavic Aksium Elite UST road bike wheels are a great replacement for the standard wheelset on your road bike, or possibly as a 'winter set' for in the cold and wet months. The Mavic Aksium Elite UST rims are nice and wide with an internal diameter of 19 mm. This ensures that the wheels feel more stable and wider tires fit nicely. You can easily put tires from 25 to 32 mm on the Aksium Elite UST wheels.

The Mavic Aksium Elite UST wheels are equipped with the UST system. The Mavic UST tubeless system has such a good connection between rim and tire that you can make it tubeless with a normal bicycle pump. As a result, even latex is not necessarily required to make the tires airtight. Of course, latex is recommended to ensure that you can continue with your ride, even when you have a puncture.

The hubs are equipped with Mavic QRM bearings (2RS) that contain double seals, so that they will run well for longer. Moisture and dirt simply penetrate the bearings less easily.

(UST) Universal Tubeless Standard
The Mavic Aksium Elite UST road bike wheels can be made tubeless thanks to the UST technology. This has many advantages such as reduced rolling resistance, more driving comfort and improved grip. The most important advantage of tubeless driving is that you can keep cycling when you have a puncture. The liquid latex fills the hole in the tire within a few seconds.

You also activate the possibility of crash replacement, which means you can get a 40% discount on a comparable product. You are eligible for this if your wheel can no longer be repaired after a fall or collision.
