A Good Tyre gone Bad !

- David, 8 May, 2020

A Good Tyre gone Bad . Sealant is coming through the sidewall . The tyre still works well but you have no confident in it .

Disappointing

- Tim, 17 September, 2020

I have used these now for around 5 weeks and have put about 350 miles on them. Overall i'm disappointed in the performance. They appear to have virtually no puncture resistance as evidenced by the hiss on every ride i've had so far. The last ride, i had 5 punctures, with the sealant able to cope with 4 of them but not the 5th. The front tyre has delaminated making it unusable, Very poor i'd say.

Pros & Cons

Easy to mount
Grippy
Delamination
Lose pressure quickly
Puncture Resistance is non existent

second ride irreparably punctured

- Eibert, 13 May, 2023

Fitting was tricky. Tire was easy to inflate with a regular bike pump though (Mavic UST rims). Second ride short bit of gravel path riding and a large cut in the tread that did not seal with latex. What a big setback with a tire of almost €50. I put a big sticker on the inside but when inflating the tire it starts to spread at the spot of the hole. Is this covered under warranty or is it bad luck and should I buy another tire next time?

Disappointing...can't get closed

- Pascal Eijkelkamp, 24 May, 2021

After bad experience with this tire where the tire is at 2 bar within hours reported to Mantel. It seems the cheeks are porous given the many white bumps on the cheeks. Response from Mantel is to lubricate the cheeks with liquid and let dry overnight and then refit..hopeless. Now that I read the many reviews I'm sick of having this tire (I even bought two :-( ). That Schwalbe but also Mantel did not come up with a better solution....

Drives super but what a mess cheeks with dozens of holes from the factory

- Hans, 26 April, 2021

After previous positive review still a comment, The front tire is perfect but rear completely deflates to 2 bar after 1 night, Not usable this way, and a lot of hassle. For a tire of almost 50 euros. I hope Mantel/ Schwalbe will give warranty because this seems to me to be a production error. Meanwhile I lost a lot of time and a lot of expensive Doc Blue milk. I could have spent that time riding my bike See photo . Sporting greetings Hans

Not a good introduction

- Tom, 27 January, 2021

Tires delivered quickly in very solid packaging from Schwalbe. Tires are relatively flexible and therefore easy to fit to the rim without tooling. Then the big one. The sidewalls of both tires had small leaks that were not sealed by the latex. Not even after applying extra latex. The tires lost about 3 bar per day (from 5 -> 2 bar in 24h). Many users seem to experience this or complain about having to re-pump a lot (probably the same issue). Now we have to wait and see if Mantel will provide warranty. No more Schwalbe for me!

PRESSURE DROP

- Marco, 10 October, 2020

I had had the 2019s and had a great time never a puncture. The 2020s also have a very good compound sliding soft to the point provides comfort and grip. Big flaw, also reported by other reviews, they lose pressure quickly. I put them in water and verified the presence of several leaks all on the sidewall of the tire. They are tiny as if they were open "pores." Dealt with recurring manufacturing defect...with what they cost...I think I will change at next purchase

Very disappointed

- Paul, 15 October, 2023

After 1000km mounted tubeless, 1st front tyre puncture on the sidewall, 2nd rear tyre puncture on the sidewall. To sum up, I'm very disappointed with my purchase. I would not recommend this 28mm tyre.

A lot smaller than the old model!

- Roger, 20 August, 2021

I bought these to replace Schwable Pro One TLE 25mm 2016 model but the new tyres are a lot smaller than the old ones (-14% by volume using V=2ᴨᴨRrr) which means they are not as comfortable. I think that the new 28mm are the same size as the old 25's. very disappointing!

Not a good experience

- Hans, 14 June, 2021

Fast, but quality and reliability tubeless riding highly in doubt.

- Tim, 25 May, 2021

I rode about 850km with 2 of these tires in combination with the scope R4D 28mm. I myself am from the Flemish Ardennes. This was of course exposed a cobblestones and climbs like the Eikenberg, Taaienberg e.t.c. After a quick ride after work at a kilometer from home I heard a small clack to the rim sst, and empty after a small unevenness at a turn. I went down.... Shoulder was tender to the socket for the first few days. Hand deeply abraded and further abrasions/discoloration. Mantel examined the tire and could not 100% indicate product failure. (Reimbursed though) I do notice that vittoria's airliner is highly innovative vs just riding with latex. Because at an angle your tire goes out of side but stays in the rim is prevented with the airliner. I also received a card from Mantel for the physical suffering is appreciated. But I am thinking of riding my last tire and then going to vittoria in combination with the airliner. I myself needed 2 weeks of physical recovery. And unfortunately the color cracks of castelli pants/leggings/shoes/lazer helmet/the enormously hard to get shifters from Germany/Lithuania. And yes, also damage to the wheels underside. Now the brakes are being strengthened (vented) at a local bike shop. Mantel did not know about the further damage hereby I mention it again. Now I am riding up these tires and am thinking absolutely no more schwalbe. Even though this was caused by the track/tire. But the angle and size tire, location of tear can't possibly have been caused by penetration but failure. (4 bar, 62kg) I absolutely do not recommend schwalbe! In cooperation with scope do let the air tightness and reliability this beautiful cooperation.... the rest you may decide for yourself. Greetings, Tim.

Uncloseable.

- Rob, 15 May, 2021

Mounted 2nd 25 mm. Previous one lasted 2 days before it was empty through numerous holes in the cheeks. According to Schwalbe this is normal, but not sealed by the latex. This week I mounted a new 25mm and it was flat within 24 hours. Again through the cheeks. Find it strange because it does not occur with the 28mm on my rear wheel.

Never again!

- A.G.P., 27 March, 2021

After years of riding continentals (4000S), now riding schwalbe pro one tle 's that came with my new bike. I read good reviews and was hopeful. After 500 km 3 punctures, and 2 difficulties to get them to drop into the rim with pressure. Result: kind of bump/high bump in tire that only slowly disappears. Never had the feeling of a fast tire (28 mm) but comfortable. Unfortunately for me no more schwalbes, back to continentals 5000, which come on the rim just fine and wonderful feeling of light rolling resistance.

Band too tight, sets very hard.

- Joris, 1 November, 2023

I would like to use this tyre with an inner tube for the time being, but for now I am running into a problem. The tyre is so tight that it does not set against the rim flange. Meanwhile, after several tries with the front wheel, I have managed it, but the rear wheel is still being worked on. I have never experienced this with other brands. Certainly not with an inner tube. Other than that, it looks solid.

Too fragile to trust

- TJ, 18 April, 2022

I really wanted to love these tires, and I do...except I have to get something else. They're just too fragile. While they worked, they were easy to mount, fast, offered a soft ride, everything you want in a tire. But they only lasted about 1000 km, or 4 months of riding. In that time, they suffered several punctures that required sealant to plug, and finally one that just refuses to stay shut, even with a tubeless plug in it. The thing is, the hole is so small that you'd have never even noticed it on a tubed tire. I just can't justify buying such an expensive tire that is so fragile, unless I were only to mount it on race day.

Pros & Cons

Easy to mount
Fast
Good grip
Light
Easily punctured

3 / 5

Good performing, lightweight tyre which seats way too tight on the rim

- Adrian, 2 July, 2022

My bike came with 28mm version fitted in, I wanted to replace it with the same model and 25mm, maybe in future will mix 25F 28R. 28mm on my rim measures 27,4mm, so the difference between them is small. The biggest issue in my case was to mount them. I tried fitting them numerous times, on both rims it always were ending with uneven fit. Nothing helped, squeezing, pumping more or even making a short ride. I ended up with adding some soap on the bead... Then they finally popped in properly. Next issue is with taking them off, it is almost impossible to do it with bare hands, I'm typing this review with burning fingers and scratches. I was putting so much force while disassembling that some rubber went off from the side. I went to the local bike service, they wasn't able to put it off too xD. Not sure if this is specific to my rim (TR, 18c), but it is pointless to use them with tubes in this case, ordered tubeless kit.. Hope they will seal easily. Ride quality is good, done just short ride so far, no experience on wet surface yet.

Pros & Cons

Performance

Weight, 270g in my case

Good tire, impossible to get on it

- Jorrit, 17 April, 2022

I have been riding Schwalbe Ones for a while now, which are great tires because they are durable, ride well and I hardly ever have a flat. And that's a good thing, because I can't get the tire on without help. With three men and green soap it still didn't work, so only a tire lever could do it. Quite tricky when you are far from home in a field. I'm going to another brand.

Improvable in everyday use and weight specifications inaccurate

- Jörg, 19 October, 2021

In terms of speed, rolling resistance a great tire. Unfortunately, slight leaks on both wheels at the rim flange - a pity but after 2 days must already be re-pumped. The weight corresponds with 288 grams not at all the manufacturer's specification, about 250 gr were specified, I think that is unserious especially since that was also the case with all 23 tires of Schwalbe Pro One

You either love it or you don't

- John, 1 September, 2021

One reviewer wrote, that he fell hard because of this tire, because it flipped over. He was riding with a 4 bar. Schwalbe could find no faults with the tire afterwards. My experience is unfortunately identical. It is a fine tire: fast, smooth, comfortable, lies well in corners and has enough friction, even in wet weather. But.....this tire must be inflated reasonably hard (say minus 6 bar). At lower pressures, the tire slips/folds over in a turn and you slip immediately, especially if the tire is older.Schwalbe should tell a little more about this, because it's just dangerous. I now replace my tires after about 3500 km , yet again with the same pro one TLE. The tires do not last very long. Why chose these again, despite the objections. If you put enough pressure on them, and don't dwell on the short lifespan, this is the nicest tire I rode so far. I give them a second chance because "I'm through with them". Given the short lifespan, though, they are expensive. Fortunately, the liquid latex works quite well with these tires. Although flat for a long time, you can still ride for months (after inflating).

Good but.

- ROBERTO, 23 August, 2020

The tires are of good workmanship and on road test they are fine. Unfortunately they lose pressure quickly(24 hours) especially the rear, and not because of incompatibility with the rims as they already previously mounted the same tires without problems . Currently I have not been able to solve the problem even by disassembling and reassembling them with added latex. I will try replacing the valves although it does not seem that the air leakage is coming from there.

Does not live up to expectations.

- Dick, 22 July, 2020

Switched to tubeless tires from Swalbe Pro One TLE 2020. Front tire punctured after 300 km due to piece of metal, can happen. The Squirt Seal didn't seal properly, so an inner tube went in. Rear tire finely worn within 3000 km so a small stone easily punctured it. Conclusion: puncture and wear resistance not in proportion to the price. Will now try the Conti 5000.

Pros & Cons

Not tubeless to use, otherwise rides fine.

- Frank, 26 June, 2023

Not tubeless to use icm Enve-80 rim, the tire is too wide around the rim, with no possibility the tire pops. With a new Conti GP5000 it works immediately, so it's not the rim. Can therefore only use the tire with a tube and that in itself rides fine, feels like a Conti.

Pros & Cons

Rides well
Cannot be used tubeless

3 / 5

Too heavy.....

- Stephan, 15 October, 2023

Unfortunately, the tyre weighs considerably more than stated. In the 25 version it is 285 gr. (weighed by the rider) and in the 28 version even 330 gr. This is significantly more than stated and therefore misleading. Mounting and handling are ok, I can't say anything about puncture protection.

Nice tyre but hard to seat and over-packaged

- Steven, 12 January, 2021

I had the previous version and was able to mount it as tubeless with moderate effort. This one I ended up taking to my LBS for their compressed air line. The product packaging is OTT - a shiny box inside a shiny sleeve box, which Mantel then put in a large packaging box. It might be premium, but is this necessary? Rolls very nicely though and I got good service from the previous one until it was gashed.

Fine band

- Mark, 28 April, 2021

After tubeless experiences with gravel tires, the road tires had to go too. These tires go on the rim (DT Swiss e1800) very easily and are easily fixed with the pump. Then add 30ml of doc blue and go. After a few hours 1 tire was flat, leaking through the sidewalls. 30ml is a bit critical on 30mm tires. Schwalbe also recommended 60ml, but Mantel sells 2 tires with 1 bottle in a set and tried that first. Tire cleaned and remounted with 60ml. After 2 days still no pressure loss. They ride well, give a lot of confidence in the corner. Durability remains to be seen. After 200km still nothing to see.

Pros & Cons

Easy to get around the rim
Good grip
Inflate with an ordinary pump
Getting airtight

Works very well with hookless rim with wide inner channel (21"). Instant heeling, minimal pressure loss after first mounting. On the road it performs very well.

Pros & Cons

Good rolling at low pressures
Heels easily
Okay for hookless shoulder
Not the lightest weight

Good seal but loses pressure

- Alessandro, 31 October, 2020

This tubeless tire is definitely a tire that provides great smoothness, comfort and safe riding and grip but has one major flaw: it does not maintain pressure, despite the use of sealing fluid inside it. At every outing it is necessary to check the pressure and inflate the tire. Very pronounced leakage at the rear, more limited at the front.

Pros & Cons

Comfort
Great sense of safety on descents
Grip
Smoothness
Pressure loss

Best value for money for a tubeless road tire

- Tobias, 27 June, 2023

I sometimes ride the Pro One TLE and sometimes the One TLE. The One TLE seems to be more durable, but the Pro One TLE runs a little better.

Excellent

- Hans, 20 October, 2023

Easy tyre, but for tubeless you always need a tyre nipper, otherwise you can't get it around the rim with your bare hands. They never tell you that!

Easy to mount onto Zipp 303s wheels but an absolute bugger to seat onto the rims.

- Chris, 13 December, 2023

Nice looking tyres at a great price from Mantel and arrived in Uk super quick. Easy to fit onto the rims (Zipp 303s). They look great but lose a star for being really hard to get seated onto the rim. Not sure why, have had Pro One’s before and never had any issues. Tried high volume pump, compressor, air blaster, inner tubes in overnight, only thing that worked in the end was using an old inner tube as a strap around the outside of the tyre and then inflating it. Once seated they have kept their air even without sealant.

Pros & Cons

Easy to mount
Great colour
Hold air
Bugger to seal

- Paul, 11 September, 2020

I found these very easy to fit on my tubeless ready rims. I had previously tried to mount the previous generation of Schwalbe Pro Ones, but gave up after I couldn't get them to inflate even with a co2 pump. This latest version however was a doddle, easy to get on the rim with only my fingers, remove the valve insert, co2 pump and boom.... Inflated instantly. Once beaded on the rim simply insert your sealant fluid of choice and refit the valve and pump with your normal track pump. Size wise I was looking for a 25mm tire that didn't bulk up on my 23/19mm width rims. Yhese came out at exactly 25mm, (the older version was almost 28mm which caused some chainstay rub on my Cannondale Supersix). As for riding, these are great, definitely the fastest tyres that I've ridden, but also with plenty of grip. Being able to run with a slightly lower pressure than traditional tubed clincher tyres also greatly increases the comfort... Especially on broken or rough surfaces.

Pros & Cons

Comfy
Easy to install
Fast
Lightweight.

Fast & Grippy

- Marcus, 23 September, 2020

This is a great tyre offering a good compromise between speed and durability for the road. I would not use it in the winter though unless the roads were dry and pretty clean.

Pros & Cons

grip
lightweight
suppleness
long term durability

One of the best just got better in 2020!

- Sam, 29 October, 2020

Have always been a fan since the launch of the Pro One but the 2020 TLE version in 28mm ranks as one of the fastest rolling tubeless tyres I’ve used. 10,000km this year without needed to fix a puncture used with Stans RACE sealant

Price against its competitors

Great tyre

- Ian, 25 November, 2020

Had the previous ProOnes, the new 28mm are narrower than the old, apparently taking into account new rim sizes. I could possibly go up to a 30mm. Just fitted this hope it lasts as long as the previous one.

Pros & Cons

Can be run at lower pressures
Good puncture resistance
Great grip
Different sizing from previous tyre

Absolutely brilliant

- Stuart, 8 January, 2021

I’ve ridden quite a few of the fastest tyres, but when gp’s and corsa’s come off in winter the pro one’s are the only formula sticky enough to feel safe on a road bike - superb

One of the best & fastest tyres in the market

- Sam, 11 June, 2021

Has been my favourite all year tubeless tyre with a fast rolling resistance & ease of fitting. Have been able to eke out about 6-7000 for the rear, possibly 8000 for the front, subject to number of cuts/repairs. Use with Stans Race sealant & repair with tyre plugs but the sealant usually plugs the holes. Strong tubeless bead makes it the recommended tyre for hookless rims

Pros & Cons

Fast rolling resistance
Tubeless easy

Very easy to set up
In very short supply in the Uk.

Used a pair of these for a whole summer with not one puncture that needed repairing. All cuts etc repaired themselves until the rear eventually gave up. I’d say value for money and piece of mind

- Søren, 15 February, 2022

Great tyre for a smooth and fast ride at a lower pressure. A bit hard to install but when in place there is no chance of it falling off the rim - and it makes for an easy airtight inflation.

Pros & Cons

Easy to make airtight
Fast tyre
Smooth riding
Hard to install

My favourite tyres.

- J P, 21 February, 2022

Last season I managed to do 8,000km without a single flat and some rubber left! So very happy. They are confidence inspiring round corners and ADDIX compound in my opinion is on par with Conti's Black Chilli. I have jumped to Conti GP5000 in interims but never committed to them as long as these. They do not have the suppleness of a set of Turbo Cottons or Corsa's but they are far from gross like some other Schwalbes's and tyres in this range. They fit at 28mm on my 19mm external rims. Which is handy considering clearance on my bike is limited. They are also over 50grams lighter than said GP5000 per tyre which is a lot on the rotating mass scale.

Pros & Cons

Puncture Protection
Speed
Weight
Difficult Set Up Tubeless

5 / 5

Great comfortable tyre. Reasonable wear rate & easy fit, recommended.

- Chris, 22 April, 2022

Schwalbi Pro One TLE tyres I have used for years as they have consistent quality. Used another popular DE make but two sets had side walls cracking problems.

Pros & Cons

Wide tyre - good, comfotable grip
none

5 / 5

A good tubeless tyre

- Jimmy, 25 April, 2022

I’ve been using them for a few years when I got my first ones there weren’t that many tubeless to pick from so I went for schwalbe I see no reason to change to another brand although I need a 23c for my rear I will probably try a continental when I need to change it as according to the rolling resistance website it sits about a mm lower in the 25c which will hopefully fit I was just getting a slight rub with the 25 schwalbe

Pros & Cons

The wear is good
They are price competitive
They roll well
A wee bit hard to fit
Don’t seem to come in a 23c anymore
