Good, accurate and easy!

- Wouter, 3 December, 2020

Been using the pedals for a few weeks. Easy to mount and quick to change between bikes. Measurement is very accurate and great for measuring left-right differences. I use the pedals in combination with Wahoo Elemnt Roam and it works great. Strava processes the info of rides including power data with clear display. Processing info in Cycle Analitics also very good. In short: if you want to train on power info and not just heart rate, or want to have left-right info, then these pedals are the ideal choice.

Fine pedals with visible adjustment

Great product, great supplier with great service

- Tony, 2 December, 2020

Purchase was very easy and the delivery was very fast. The pedals work perfectly. Simple to setup and have worked flawlessly since I put them in my bike. I do find clipping in and out is not as easy as with my Shimano pedals. I haven't worked out why yet, but as far as a power meter goes, with all the metrics, they are perfect.

Pros & Cons

Easy to install and setup
Light
Very easy to recharge
Very low battery consumption
Personally find clipping/unclipping less easy

First class in use and reliability

- Dennis, 22 November, 2020

I had only long considered whether I should dare the yet not just small investment. Since I get with these pedals, however, a bilateral measurement for all wheels with only one "device", I had then but struck. A single equip the individual wheels would have been just accordingly much more expensive. Once unpacked, the pedals are installed in two minutes. The calibration takes a few seconds with the Assioma app. And you can start riding right away. Wheel change? Unscrew, screw on another wheel, calibrate, done! The connection is always stable with Wahoo Element Roam and Garmin Forerunner 935. Connection failures I have not yet experienced. Conclusion: Cheaper would of course be nice, the pedals are worth their money but. I would buy them again.

Probably the best powermeter on the market today

- Vincent, 11 November, 2020

I am using powermeters for more than 10 years. I was trusting only one brand : SRM. Reliable but very expensive. I have also now a pair of Assioma. I have made already a lot of rides with them on a bike where the Srm is still installed. Difference between both is never greater than 1%. You can buy, eyes closed.... And with Mantel, you will receive them next day or two days later max.

Super pedals even after 30,000km still very good

- schelte, 16 September, 2020

I bought the precursor (almost identical, just different plug for charging) in 2016. Not for sale in NL at that time, but purchased in Germany. I was then convinced by DCRainmaker's extensive test and the info the manufacturer gave him at the time about the robust construction. The electronics are completely cast in resin so nothing can break. And should a bearing need to be replaced, this is all available separately at very reasonable prices. In short, after 30,000 km I am still very satisfied. And -not unimportantly- the pedals are very easy to (dis)assemble when using an airplane case or multiple bikes. Also nice is that you can calibrate the pedals via an app so that I can have them display exactly the same wattages as my Tacx Neo.

Best in class power meter pedals

- Sandro, 1 September, 2020

The Assioma is frequently ranked as the best power pedals in the market and I'm happy to confirm that they deliver to make any data geek smiling. Killer precision, lightweight, versatile, tons of data and useful tricks with the Favero app. In my experience the Q-factor increase was not an issue, can be felt but you quickly get used to it. The cleats provided have tons of float, but this is a cleat issue and not the pedals, a quick replacement for a 4.5º or 0º will sort it. The travel function in the app is really useful for turning the device off, particularly for a long indoor section if power comes from the trainer, it will save you some battery recharge cycles as it is not serviceable. This is the only down side I found so far, if the battery fails the whole sensor body needs to be replaced, thankfully you can keep the pedal base.

Pros & Cons

High precision
Lightweight
Long lasting rechargeable battery
Reasonable priced
Replaceable pedal body
Battery not serviceable (sealed unit)
Tons of float with the provided cleats

Ultimate power meter

- Riccardo, 28 August, 2020

I will start by saying that I purchased this meter after testing at least 5 other models of various brands, so I have gained some experience. I was recommended these by several people and so I decided to purchase them here on mantel and try them out. As always the site is really top notch, shipped me the product in record time when other retailers used to take even several weeks before they had the product at home. Inside the box in addition to the pedals are 2 power cables to charge them and a transformer, instruction manual, 2 types of shoe cleats, an 8mm hex key to mount them. As soon as they arrived I immediately read the really well written instruction manual, installed them on the bike very easily using the 8mm wrench inside the box, after which I put them on charge and within a couple of hours they were ready to use. Of course as the instructions say before using them they have to be paired and enabled from the app, also a super easy operation. As soon as they were charged I immediately tested them on the road and noticed from the start extreme precision and speed in noticing the change in power and cadence. Let me explain better, I used to use other gauges on both bottom bracket and cranks that were never super accurate on cadence, for example they always oscillated between 2-3 rpm, which is not serious at all but still these do not do, these remain stable even on the rpm and as soon as you pedal more agile they quickly change the data. Then on the power the same thing, it doesn't have sudden drops, when you raise the pace slightly they increase the watts correctly without going up excessively and then coming back down, it goes up steadily and stays as it is. Other note and important thing for me is that using before sensor on crank when I stood up on the pedals I would notice a very big sudden drop in power, I would often get even 50 watts difference between sitting and standing on the pedals, which is really impossible in reality. Whereas with these the power remains the same whether sitting or standing, in fact, in some cases standing on the pedals is even higher as it should be by pushing harder. Also the balance I would say works very well, useful to see on the laps or at the end of the lap how you have pedaled, I did some tests pushing more with one leg than with the other and the pedals immediately noticed the difference giving consistent values. Also the body of the pedal I found it more than excellent, accustomed me to look pedals I did not find particular differences on the attack and detachment, super precise also in this, it is also possible as on the other pedals to adjust them so as to make the attack harder, also as cleats I used those look gray and they did not give me any problem, despite inside the box there are other cleats provided by favero. As battery life I can not yet make my judgment being that after the first charge I have not yet exhausted it, but I do not think they have this kind of problem. To close the review I would like to say that as average values I found it in line with other 2 gauges used, for example stages and power2max having also used them at the same time precisely to compare them, so there is no need to change training references. So really super recommended, for now I am finding myself very very well, complete and defined meter, easy to mount and to move from one bike to another without performing long calibrations, it's just a thing of a couple of seconds. As always Mantel at the top but I had no doubt about that.

I've done a few rides with them, so I can't say for sure how long they'll hold up, but their design seems well-built. They're simple to install and easy to connect to my edge 830. You just have to activate them on the assioma app. I loosened the wedge springs to give me a little more freedom, because on my first outing, my feet were getting hot where the bindings were. Superb

- Thierry, 23 July, 2020

I first purchased a Stages gen 3 L power sensor on the left crank, and was very disappointed, as the figures measured were 10% lower than those advertised by my Tacx Neo home trainer (which is reputed to be quite accurate). What's more, the Stages application doesn't allow any calibration or correction of the sensor. So I returned this first sensor ("money back guarantee" on Mantel, which works very well) and decided to upgrade to a sensor that measures on both sides. And I must say I'm not disappointed with these Favero Assioma DUO power sensors. It's night and day compared to the Stages. Sure, it's more expensive (still very competitive for a sensor that measures both sides), but it exudes quality. After comparing the .fit files on ZwiftPower (https://www.zwiftpower.com/analysis.php?set_id=45797), the figures measured by the pedals are on the whole very close to those announced by my Neo, and the differences observed seem to depend solely on the rotation speed of the Neo's flywheel. I've only compared in ERG mode for now. In ERG mode, when the Neo turns slowly (small chainring / large pinion / 90rpm) I get -2% with the pedals, and when the Neo turns very fast (large chainring / small pinion / 90rpm), I get up to +8% with the pedals. It's strange these variations, and I'm more inclined to trust my pedals now, because they always measure the same whatever the gear, which is probably not the case with the Neo. The application for setting the pedals is excellent. In particular (compared with the Stages, on which this was not possible), you can perform a calibration (by hanging a weight from 8 to 25kg on the pedal), and then apply a correction coefficient (up to +/-15% if necessary to match another source, but as said above, I think these pedals are telling the truth, so there's no need to change this setting, I left this coefficient at 0% for both pedals). I also tested the calibration procedure with a 9kg weight and the application determined that the pedals were within the advertised 1% error specification, so again, I didn't change the calibration. Plus I don't have a precision scale so I don't know precisely if my weight is exactly 9kg, so again I trust the pedals. What's more, a power sensor on the pedals makes it very easy to switch the sensor from one bike to another, you just have to be careful not to damage the head of the axle screw by trying to tighten too hard. Sensor compatibility on cranks or cranksets can be a problem if you have several bikes with different brands/standards of crankset. With pedals it's simpler, I'm not aware of any pedal compatibility problems, but there are certainly some exceptions. I had Shimano pedals before, and the change didn't bother me that much, apart from the fact that I went from 2° to 6° angular freedom, so it's still a bit noticeable, but nothing serious, you just have to be aware of it and pay attention to the knee pain that can occur after a change of pedals. I had knee pain after 1 week of using these pedals, nothing serious, I don't really know if it was because of the pedals, but the pain went away a week later by continuing to use the pedals. The pedals are supplied with 2 USB charging cables, a charger with 2 USB ports, a pair of 6° favero cables (red), a quality 8 allen key for mounting/dismounting the pedals. I can't recommend this power meter enough. I've got a Garmin watch that gives me measurements of left/right power balance and pedaling efficiency (in addition to power and cadence). All I need to do now is make the most of this tool for my road sessions!

Fool proof

- Eoin, 12 July, 2020

Very easy to set up and sync (in my case with my wahoo elemnt). Battery last for ages too. These dual sided pedals have confirmed my long suspected hunch that i have a left/right imbalance which I will need to address. The only thing is that the instructions are vague(ish) on whether a crank needs a spacer or not. I urged on the side of caution and used one spacer even though there was a slight gap between crank arm and battery wall.

Pros & Cons

easy installation
easy sync and pair
easy transferable between bikes
cleat have too much float
instructions vague on necessity of spacer

Absolutely delighted with these power meter pedals from favero... I purchased the assimoa duo version and they were super easy to install and the huge amount of data feedback is fabulous for me and my coach.. They are super lightweight and well made.. - Maaike, 10 July, 2020

Easy to install, accurate, easy to use and transport. Battery lasts a long time, charging is simple. Very satisfied with it! The only thing I had to get used to was that the pedals don't allow you to click out properly if you turn your foot inward instead of outward.

Great, but cleats arent nice

- Mark, 22 April, 2020

The power meter itself is great - set up is super easy, the app is great, paired with bolt in no time and starts up fast when you want to ride. First power meter so can't say about the accuracy but DC Rainmaker & LamaLabs can offer you more on that. Only thing I'm not sold on are the look keo style cleats they use; moving from SPD-SL you notice that your footbed isn't as stable and you really need to dial in your cleat position so you don't get any pains etc. They aren't terrible, but if they came out with an SPD-SL body tomorrow id buy it straight away.

Pros & Cons

Fair price given alternatives
Pretty light
Works as it should
Cleats arent great

Excellent Power Pedals

- Paul, 23 January, 2020

I had a Stages single sided crank but got a winter bike that didn't have Hollowtech cranks. So I decided to take the plunge after seeing the top notch reviews of the Assioma duo pedals. I paid less than I did for a single sided Stages & I've been impressed so far. The app is easy to use, pedals very easy to setup & swap between bikes. Wish I'd pulled the trigger & bought these sooner. Cycling dynamics is really handy for finding weaknesses in your pedal stroke & means you can pinpoint the areas you need improvement. Highly recommend & Mantel are very low priced.

Pros & Cons

Cycling Dynamics
Gen 2 bodies make a few improvements
L/R balance
Solid signal
Very easy to switch between bikes
Keo style cleats may not be for some.

No brainer

- Richard, 20 January, 2020

These dual sided power meters pedals appear to be very accurate and provide various cadence, power balance and smoothness metrics aswell as power. They use the look style cleats rather than shimano which is fine for me as I’ve come from a Garmin vector pedal power meters which also use look style cleats

Pros & Cons

Dual sided
Easy to fit and charge via supplied attachment
Good looking
Good value
Loads of metrics via cycling dynamics
Only work with look style cleats

5 / 5

Superb pedals, accurate and reliable

Quality product unlocking power metrics for all my bikes

- Tom, 15 December, 2019

The reviews by reputable pundits convinced me that this was the power meter product for me. Mantel’s super competitive price convinced me that they should have my business. No fuss transaction and super efficient dispatch with tracking was very much appreciated. Product is faultless in all the three weeks of operation throughout torrential rain and muddy conditions. No complaints from me. Would recommend product and supplier! Pleased with my decision.

Pros & Cons

Fully compatible with Garmin Edge
Interchangeable power metrics for all your bikes
Lightweight
Unobtrusive appearance
Not a top fan of Look Keo cleats

Great power pedals, as you would expect!!

- Laurence, 13 December, 2019

Got these after looking at a lot of reviews. As a power pedal, I think they have a greater chance of long term use, as the important parts are over near the crank. Unlike Garmin pedals where you have the battery housing on the outside of the pedal, one fall and the pedal is done in!! I had a small issue with the connection falling out on my Garmin Fenix3 and Edge 520, I emailed Favero and within 2 days they had sorted out an update for me, they asked me to update the pedals and there's been no problem since. their service is extermley good.

Pros & Cons

accurate
good value
light
serviceable
not the best looking

4 / 5

do exactly as expected

- Aidan, 9 December, 2019

seem great so far, simple to set up and doing what they are supposed to, only down side is they don't fit Shimano Cleats so having to get used to look positioning but all good so far!

Pros & Cons

look cleats only
