With the Vortex Smart T2180 Full-Connect Edition you get a complete indoor workout pack, so you can train just the way you like it. Besides training with the app for your Tablet or Smarphone, the Tacx Software 4 package is included in this pack. The USB ANT+ dongle is also included, to connect the Vortex Smart with your PC.
New for this year is the FE-C ANT+ Protocol. This protocol allows you to train with software programs like ZWIFT, Kinomap or VirtualTraining, with ANT+ communication.
The Vortex smart has an electro brake thats able to generate 950 Watt resistance. The electro brake from the Vortex Smart creates a 7% gradient. A electro brake is an advanced brake system, which is controlled by software thats able to create a realistic bike feel. The trainer communicates through ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart. The supplied Skyliner front wheel support levels your front wheel compared to your rear wheel.
Tacx Cycling App (via bluetooth smart and ANT+)
To optimize your training you can use the Tacx Cycling App. The Tacx cycling App is easy to use and can be downloaded from the App store or Play store. Using this app you can watch videoclips from legendary rides and tours. There is a possibility to create your own training programs so you can train on heart rate, gradient or wattage. But you can use the preset stamina tests and trainings as well. The data from your workout will be shown during your ride, and saved afterwards to analyze your results (only on iPad).
The Tacx Cycling app for iPhone and Android tablet do not include every features, see the picture. See specifications for a full compatibility list.

Very good. Not just for the price, it is very good.

Once set up (very easy to do) and updated, it was a simple case of connecting to my iPad via Ant+. Do it this way and it will control the turbo's resistance to help you achieve the target wattage. I also use it with my Garmin pedals providing the power signal with the turbo running in ERG mode. With this set up I can use Trainerroad or Swift for my winter indoor sessions.
Pros & Cons
