The engine brake can simulate up to 1500 watts of resistance to the rear wheel, and can power your wheel in descends of up to 5%. If you don't pair the trainer to a computer, smartphone, or tablet, then it'll behave like a regular progressive fluid trainer: the higher your speed, the higher the resistance. It's possible then to use the trainer as a stand-alone unit.
Note: All our turbo trainers come with a Euro plug. A UK plug or adapter is not included.

Great trainer and service from Mantel
The trainer itself is great, once you get it all working. Setting up the Tacx software was not as easy as the instructions say. Had a lot of communication with Tacx help dear,who were great, and eventually got everything working together. The ride feel on the turbo is great. Would highly recommend.

great product apart from software issue
Bought this and it works great on zwift but i have a MacBook air and although i got the whole tacx software package with licence number, I couldn't install it because it doesn't run on a mac. Talk about disappointed to say the least.

High end and top performing wheel-on smart trainer
The decision about whether to opt for a wheel on or a direct drive smart trainer was always going to be difficult. I wasn't too concerned about the faster response time and wattage of DD trainers as I quite like the idea of a little tyre slippage here and there. This way, I excel when I hit the tarmac proper.
