Pros & Cons

Pros & Cons

  • Because of its closed-loop brake unit, the Booster produces less noise than other wheel-powered bike trainers.
  • Skyliner front wheel support to properly set up the bike is included.
  • Can be used without mains power.
  • Use a trainer tyre, because a regular tyre will wear out quickly on the trainer.
  • No ANT+ or Bluetooth Smart to pair the trainer to your phone, tablet, or PC.

The Tacx Booster was designed to deliver pure power. Thanks to the magnetic brake, which is even more powerful than the one used in the Tacx Satori Smart T2400, the Booster can generate high resistance at low speeds. The Booster is easy to set-up and safer to use, as the brake has been integrated, making it impossible to come into contact with the potentially hot flywheel. A good bike trainer for all cyclists

Powerful Bike Trainer

The built-in brake system of the Booster uses a flywheel and 8 permanent magnets, creating the most powerful brake system of any Tacx trainer. Compared to the well known -and strong- Satori, the Booster offers even more resistance at 25 kilometers per hour at setting "10", creating an even more intense work-out. The Tacx Booster then: a trainer all about pure power.

Detailed product description

Convenient Tacx Skyliner front wheel support

This Skyliner wheel support can also be clamped into the trainer for easy transport or storage. You use the front wheel support as a handle to easily pick up the bike trainer.

Manual operation

The Tacx Booster T2500 is provided with a handlebar switch so you can adjust the resistance manually. The higher the switch, the more resistance. There are 10 possible settings, with a maximum of 1050 watt.

Silent bike trainer

The Tacx Booster is a basic bike trainer with a closed brake unit. This reduces the noise so doesn't bother you and those around you. This is ideal for intensive interval and power training. The roller over which the rear wheel spins is made of hardened steel with a soft core of elastogel. The steel exterior prevents wear and tear of the roller, while the elastogel core absorbs vibrations and sound.

Basic trainer that can be used with Zwift

The Tacx Booster T2500 is not provided with Bluetooth Smart 4.0 or ANT+, but if you have a powermeter or sensors with ANT+ or Bluetooth Smart 4.0, it’s possible to connect with Zwift via the sensors or the powermeter. This connection is called Virtual Power. Applications such as Zwift, TrainerRoad, and even Tacx Software get data from your sensors and convert it to input for the applications. Virtual Power offers an indication of the power, but it is always less accurate than via direct power measurement.
