Description

Description

The SIGMA ROX 4.0 is a bike computer with GPS. This bundle includes an improved handlebar mount and a heart rate monitor. The extra large 2.4-inch display shows your speed, altitude profile, distance and training time, among other things. When you pair the ROX 4.0 with your smartphone and Komoot App, you also get Turn-by-Turn instructions during navigation. This gives you almost all the advantages of the much more expensive bike navigation systems. Compared to the ROX 2.0, this model has a barometric altimeter and the possibility of linking ANT+ or Bluetooth sensors. With the latter, you can, for example, connect a heart rate or power meter to the bike computer. The maximum battery life of 18 hours means you can go on very long rides without worrying about your Sigma running out.

Simple navigation
The SIGMA ROX 4.0 is a really smart bike computer that even has basic navigation options. To do this, you'll need to connect it to your smartphone, and use the Komote app. On this app, you turn on the navigation, and it will then send the turn-by-turn directions to the ROX 4.0. For example, in the top right corner of the Red Circle you'll see a directional arrow and the distance in metres to the next turn.

External sensors
A big plus over the ROX 2.0 is that the 4.0 supports external sensors. You can connect external sensors to the SIGMA ROX 4.0 via Bluetooth or ANT+. For example, you can link a speed or cadence meter to your cycling computer for even more insight into your training. Of course, it is also possible to connect a heart rate monitor or even a power meter to this Sigma.

Flexible mounting
The standard handlebar mount that comes with the Sigma ROX can easily be attached to any handlebar or stem with the cable ties that come with it. For an even sturdier handlebar mount, choose the Sigma ROX 4.0 HR Top Mount Set, which comes with a premium handlebar mount and a heart rate monitor.

Technology

GPS, GLONASS
GPS and GLONASS enable your Sigma computer to pinpoint your location quickly and accurately.

E-bike ready
The ROX 4.0 connects to compatible E-bike systems and shows the current pedal assist level, battery status, light and other data on the display or in the Red Circle.

Smart notifications
If your SIGMA ROX is connected to a smartphone, you will receive notifications of incoming calls and messages.

Sport profiles
The Sigma ROX 4.0 has individually customisable sport profiles and 6 customisable training views.

Barometric altimeter
With this integrated air pressure sensor, your Sigma can accurately determine the current altitude. In combination with the GPS system, this provides a very accurate altitude measurement. This way, you can see exactly how many altitude metres you have travelled during or after your ride.

Great bike computer with excellent value for money

- Marc 15 April 2024

Easy to install. Great readable display, always rechargeable. Navigation is limited but for that money it is a fine device and if you use the navigation in conjunction with a phone, it works fine. Sometimes it is difficult to click the computer wash. When using for the first time, try practising clicking on soft ground for a while if device slips then it falls softly. Click system with magnet would be more convenient. Once it is attached, it is firmly attached.

Pros & Cons

Battery rechargeable so no battery needed
Easy to install
Good value for money
Illuminated display in the dark
Gps signal sometimes fails
Navigation is limited and more supported.
Snap on is a bit tricky (can slip)

Great entry for great price!

- Axl 1 April 2024

I bought it as an entry-level model to gauge to what extent a bike computer would add value and which functions are really necessary. After a while, it became clear what was missing for me personally. But it is a great starter model that nicely displays your performance and can introduce you to the data that comes into play during a bike ride.

Pros & Cons

Illuminated in the dark
In my eyes, does what it should for its price
Live tracking via komoot
Sufficient battery
Tabs to personalise
Average max speed often came out too high
Difficult to follow training schedules with it
Some manoeuvres are confusing with the tracknav
Track navigation only and no map view
