The Shimano S-PHYRE XC902 MTB shoes guarantee superior quality. Just ask Mathieu van der Poel.
The Shimano S-PHYRE XC902 offers an excellent and comfortable fit. This is thanks to several features. These MTB shoes are equipped with Shimano's Surround Wrapping. This means that the entire upper foot is wrapped in a seamless piece of leather. The result is an improved fit with less play between shoes and feet. The fit can be perfectly adjusted with the two BOA Li2 turnbuckles. These have a low profile and can be used responsibly during mountain biking, in order to make quick adjustments to the fit. At the forefoot is the so-called "powerzone lacing guide", which ensures that also the forefoot remains firmly in place.
Upper boot with optimal stiffness and flexibility
The upper of the Shimano S-PHYRE XC902 features reinforced mesh and microfiber synthetic leather. These materials are layered and placed in an organised way. This way, an optimal fit, flexibility, stiffness and breathability are ensured.
Very stiff full carbon midsole
The Shimano S-PHYRE XC902 is equipped with a full carbon midsole. This ensures optimal stiffness (stiffness index: 11), resulting in excellent power transfer to the pedals. These MTB shoes are also equipped with Shimano Dynalast. This refers to a high-quality shoe design with a springy toe area. Thanks to Shimano Dynalast, your pedalling will be smoother and the power transfer to the pedals will be more efficient.
Ultimate racing grip
The Shimano S-PHYRE XC902 features a lightweight ULTREAD rubber outsole with a highly technical tread pattern. This gives you ultimate and race-worthy grip, both on and off the mountain bike. You can also add claw-shaped metal to the front of the bottom. This allows you to choose between feather-light quality or a further improved grip.
In order to help you, as best we can, to choose the right size shoe we have measured all the shoes ourselves. All that's left for you to do is measure your own foot length, and we'll tell you which shoe size per brand suits you best. Does your foot length in mm not appear on the relevant product's page? Then that particular shoe is not available in a size that suits your foot length.
You can easily measure your foot length using an A4 sheet of paper, placed on the floor against a wall. Stand with one foot on the piece of paper, with your heel against the wall. Draw a line above your big toe (or above the index toe if that is longer). Now mark your other foot on the paper in the same way. Measure both - the measurement of your longest foot is your foot length in mm's! Please note: some manufacturers have their own measuring system, and as a result what appears on the shoebox can deviate from what we have measured.
What shoe size you need can differ per brand. This is because certain brands wear larger or smaller. To help you get the perfect fit, we've also classified the shoes as narrow, average, or wide fit. Read all about it in our blog!

poor service Mantel
After 1 ride, the leather was torn at the bottom and the studs were already worn away. Contacted mantle, more no further service received. Friends with the same problems with XC902 shoes were immediately sent new shoes through a competing shop. Apparently at shimano this was a factory fault. Mantel did not want to make a warranty claim.

2 maten groter nemen!
Voelt het verschil als je ze past. 2 maten groter dan mijn normale maat. 44, heb nu een 46 moeten nemen. En ze zitten fantastisch!

Lovely shoe that looks like a road shoe
Fine shoes! I ride with mtb pendals on my gravel/ allroad bike. For road rides, it looks like I'm wearing road shoes.

Excellent delivery and service.
Excellent shoes that improve cycling performance due to their low weight and stiffness. The BOA type closure improves the fit of the foot to the shoe. I love them. A good investment.

Everything you expect from a mountain bike shoe, these are bang on!
Okay, these shoes are quite a few euros, and normally I don't do that. But I wanted all-white mtb shoes and then you quickly end up with these. From the moment I took them out of the box I was convinced. Wow, these are stunners! They are very light and fit like a glove. Moreover, they are very stiff so every kick you give is fully transmitted to the bike. By the way, if you take out the sole you can see one full carbon block inside the shoe. And you can adjust the inside of the foot in terms of height with pads. Put on your cycling clothes, get into those shoes, jump on the bike and feel the power! These shoes aint joking around baby. They are the real deal!
