How often should I clean my bike? Regular cleaning ensures that your materials last longer, so you'll be able to enjoy cycling for a longer time. How often you'll need to clean your bike depends on the weather conditions in which you ride. Do you cycle through all kinds of weather, or do you only go out when the sun is shining? It all affects the degree of wear and tear and some people will have to clean their bikes more often than others. Use the schedule below as a guide:

October to March:
• Clean every 200 km
• Rinse after every ride
• Dry and oil the chain after every ride
• Allow the bike to dry at room temperature

April to September:
• Clean every 300 km
• Rinse off after cycling in the rain

What's the difference between an HG700 and an R7000 cassette?
There are two cassettes, with two separate product codes, listed on this page. These two cassettes are part of the same groupset and are of the same quality. However, there are differences in their range and compatibility.

The CS-R7000 cassettes are available with ranges between 11/25 and 11/32, and fit a Shimano HG 9-12 speed body. The CS-HG700 cassette is available with an 11/34 range, and is just as wide as a 10-speed mountain bike cassette. It'll fit on an HG 9-12 speed freehub body as well as a 10-speed mountain bike freehub body.
