Shimano XC702

Mainly bought to have wider shoes (I was already on Shimano before), and with finer adjustment (two BOA), with the aim of being ultimately more comfortable over long distances than with my basics before.... Seems to be doing the job ....

Had good advice in shop, found fine shoe after a long search. I like the shoe very much. Gives good support and forces are transferred well by the stiff sole. Despite a considerable outlay for what I am used to, I am very happy I bought this shoe.

Had these shoes before, switched to Northwave in between but still come back to these because fit better, closure works better.

They fall very small. Normally I am a size 44 or 44.5. Size 45 of this shoe was too small, size 46 too big. Clerk in the shop advised me to take size 46 as shimano would not have half sizes. At another shop they were available so unfortunately had to buy elsewhere.

With narrow and flat feet (with a low instep), finding a comfortable MTB shoe was quite a challenge. I tried on several brands and types at Mantel's shop and ended up with the XC702 and XC902. In size 43, the XC702 was just a bit longer (3 mm??) than the XC902 and the nose is a bit more upright. Those features combined with the price were the deciding factors for the XC702. After several rides on MTB and Gravel, I am extremely satisfied with these shoes. Thanks to the Mantel employee for the advice and service! I like going to a shop for that!

I was surprised by this shoe, I swore by Northwave but having more and more problems with Northwave I was tempted by Shimano and really, they are 900 times more comfortable than my Northwave which cost twice the price!!!!! I'm delighted!

Run very easily because they are flexible. The sole, on the other hand, is very stiff because of the carbon sole.

Fine shoe! Fits perfectly around my difficult, wide right foot. No pain on the first rides, a rarity. The shoe does not feel very stiff, especially on the inside-side of the foot it feels a bit flabby.

super happy with these new shoes. They're nothing like the cheap lace-up shoes I used to wear. My only regret is that I didn't make this purchase sooner.

This is a really a top shoe. My previous pair of MTB shoes were by Sidi (from the same price range) but the stiffness of this shoe is many times better. And the fit is perfect. One small drawback is that the BOA closure becomes slightly less tight after 'a few hours on the bike. Especially with overshoes, this is difficult to tighten again.

Pleasant fit and convenient boa closures. Because there are two of them, you can choose which area of the foot fits most closely. They are also easy to adjust while cycling. Insole provided with sufficient grip & shoe itself walks (for short stretches) pleasantly.

I used xc300s for 1 year, which were a size too small. I finally switched to the xc702 a few weeks ago. There are two big improvements that I've noticed straight away. Firstly, the greater rigidity of the sole, which really gives a better pedaling feel. Secondly, the adjustment (the second boa) at toe level, which allows the shoe to fit perfectly. I'd say these XC702s are neither better nor worse value for money than the XC300s. The price difference makes sense to me, given the improvements I've made. A word of warning: be sure to check the foot size given in cm or mm by mantel. The size given by shimano is highly overestimated. I'm a size 45/46 dress shoe, but the size that fits me for these XC702s is 47 wide.

These shoes fit me perfectly, very happy with them. Price-quality ratio is good with 2 boa closures, hard sole. Highly recommended as far as I am concerned.

Have experience with shimano shoes this is my third pair every upgrade they are better . Partly because of the detailed size description of mantel measuring and circumference of the feet took the step and ordered online . Indeed it fits perfectly . There is not much choice around here and to send 1 hour for a pair of shoes to fit . (Didn't know you had a lifetime warranty on the boa system at boa itself free replacement set )

Thanks to the measuring instructions, I found out that I had to be a size 44 with a wide foot. I normally bought Shimano SPD shoes in size 45. Now this 44 with wide fit is just right. Top shoes!

The boots are very comfortable, the sole grips well and adapts very well to the foot, they are light, shimano size somewhat smaller than normal, I use a 44 in spiuk boots and I ordered a 45 and perfect.
