do not buy
They looked nice but I couldn't get them fitted, I've been through a lot in the 30 years I've been cycling, but this really wasn't doable, so don't know if they ride well, I returned them again

A top all-round band
You can even ride Gravel races with it

Nice band, hell of an assembly.... Worth the work ?
This was an assembly process over two days: First mount tire over rim without tube, let that stretch overnight. Then loosen it, spray WD40 in it or lubricate with dish soap then mount with tube. Side note: had a flat a few days after mounting and puncture during a ride and was able to mount the tire just fine next to the road.

terrible never happened a puncture on new tires after 5 minutes
New tires just mounted I do a little test on the dirt road (I Bought them BECAUSE THEY PRODUCE EXCELLENT ANTI-PERFORATING) punctured immediately not even 5 minutes of use , definitely will not recommend and buy them ever again

Top tires
nice and good tires!

good location, difficult assembly
The handling is superb, although I find a maximum pressure of 5 bar on the low side for a tire of only 30mm. The tire is not preformed, which makes mounting quite difficult. I managed it with the use of tire cutters, be careful not to pinch the tube.

top band
I use this tire in Greece on the road, the many unpredictable bumps in the road make me feel safe.

Well, ideal is different
I use them with normal inner tubes. Then they ride well and fast for a gravel tyre. So installation is really hard! Hope for no punctures with races, because changing tyres is not nothing! You'll be fumbling along the road for a while though

Perfect winter tyre for racing bikes
Perfect winter tyres for racing bikes! Even when dry, they are ideal for light gravel roads. I definitely recommend the 30mm.

Poor quality I think but nice looks
Very bad I had to take these tyres off after a few rides because there is already a crack in the tread. And they are incredibly hard to get on, so if you get a puncture you have a problem. Now back on my trusty Schwalbe.

Pay after work
Mounting idd difficult. I first put them in a hot bath. Then dry them well and with a lot of talcum powder and a pair of strong hands, it works.

Lovely fast tyre that looks nice and retro , initial fitting can be a challenge though.
Not the easiest tyre to fit but it rides great, feels firm with low rolling resistance when combined with Challenge's latex inner tubes.

Once but never again
Very dissatisfied with this tyre. Ridden nice variety on asphalt and gravel. However in 350km 2 punctures. I had the 30mm version. This was once and never again. Thrown away after 350km. A real shame!

Highly flexible and smooth-running belts
Warned in advance that laying it on would be very tricky. It's not so difficult if you use the right size latex inland from Challenge and a pair of Schwalbe tyre levers (those blue ones). Cycles really wonderfully! With the right (not too high!) tyre pressure, you float over any surface. Still too few kilometres to judge wear and puncture resistance, but so far very satisfied.

Recommended if you want to spend a bit more.
Riding such a wide tyre for the first time, I was incredibly shocked by its handling. You don't feel the difference compared to a 25 or 28mm. I used both and was completely convinced by the comfort and rolling resistance. Nothing else for me.

Good tyre, once on the rim
Getting this tyre on a rim is a real ordeal. Surprising considering that cyclocross tyres of the same brand go very easily on the (same) rim... Once fitted, I think it is a good tyre: good grip in corners and wet weather, rolling resistance is not too bad. The tread is pretty stiff so I am confident it will not puncture easily. The tyre says max 5 bar, but I ride with 6 and that goes without a problem. Lost 2 points because of the near heart attack when mounting, otherwise I would give it a 9.

Bangly good tyres
Good grip, low rolling resistance and nice looks. Difficult to put on, though.

very good
many people mount the tyre incorrectly the inner tube should be inflated slightly ;; and then it should be placed in the rim; then start on the other side of valve ;; finishing on valve closure

definitely worthwhile
I've always used tyres from Challenge(for field riding), and they always go on a bit hard, this one was a degree worse in that. But when you get it on, it's well worth it. I use it on my electric bike, and it can now clearly go further on a battery charge. A very fine, very light running belt, with plenty of grip. I hadn't had such a wide tyre before, but you don't notice anything adverse about it! If it were easier to fit, I'd give it a 10. Always fit it with a latex inner tube though, so it feels like riding with a tube.

Good, beautiful , super band
When you put it on, it's a bit tricky, the first time you don't know what's happening, it's so much nicer. I put it on in winter at 5 bar and if I want to go for a bit through the dry forest or a shell path, no problem, also much better grip on the concrete cycle paths are now all leaves. Also in the villages here there are all bricks are if it rains a bit Slippery but no problem.

Very good...
Difficult tyres to get on, don't use silicone tubing on the first fitting as it gets caught very easily and breaks.... Take a traditional rubber one and mount it first and leave it overnight, change to silicone after that if you want a silicone tube as the tyre has stretched a little and is easier to mount. Tip, use washing-up liquid on the rim edge, it will be easier to get the tyre on the last bit. Fantastic tyres once they are on.

good roadholding and durability. Just what you need for Belgian roads!

Fine band
Unlike others, I actually get the tyre on very easily (the Michelin Power Mud TLR was a disaster for me). Wear and tear after +/- 3000 km is not too bad either, so that's good. I also have no problems with delamination of the casing and rubber. If you really go off-road, a bit more tread would be better of course (in autumn/winter it's not to be done) but the great thing about this tyre is that you can tackle some single tracks with little pressure first and then still be fast on the road. Win-win I would say. I did have two punctures because of the thin cheeks (that's the other side of the coin because of the suppleness). That puncture resistance layer is only in the middle of the tread.

Top band, bit tight
Have now driven a few hundred kilometres with this tyre. Really blissful ride. Fitting is not easy, as I had read here. However, with the help of a bit of suds and a good tyre lever, it is quite doable. Keeping in mind one of the panic stories from previous reviews, I did a test to change an inner tube immediately after fitting. Goes fine if the tyre has already been fitted once. All in all, a top tyre and still looks nice on the bike.

Nice solid tyre but not mountable so tightly
I've already put quite a few tyres on the rims of my bike, not always smoothly with folding tyres but this one (unfortunately) beats everything. The tyre is clearly well made and looks sleek and nicely finished. The profile and material of the tread looks and feels like it has a lot of grip and the inside has a nice anti-puncture layer. Unfortunately, the fit is so tight that even once I can't get one side of the tyre on the rim myself (and not even close). And even if I could, I shouldn't think about having a puncture with this. I have now applied to return to Mantel and look for another tyre.

Awesome tyre, low rolling resistance, excellent grip
Used these for around 200km now, 0 punctures. Excellent low rolling resistance tyre. Great grip.
