Do you want to keep training in autumn and spring without having to put a wind jacket over your jersey? Then the Rapha Pro Team LS Windstopper Jersey is exactly what you’re looking for. This long-sleeved jersey is completely windproof and fits as snugly as a standard cycling jersey. It’s your outer layer: you won’t need to wear anything else over it.

Rapha designed it for cold to cool days between 5 and 12 °C. At around 10 °C, wear a thin base layer underneath; as the temperature drops towards 5 °C, opt for a warm thermal base layer. If you often ride in temperatures below 5 °C or in prolonged rain, a lined winter jacket or a rain jacket is the better choice.

Choose this jersey if you cycle fast and intensively: training sessions, group rides and races. The fabric under your arms is breathable, so you won’t get soaked in your own sweat during a climb or a sprint. And because the top of the zip is tucked into a placket, you can zip it right up without anything rubbing against your chin. If you mainly cycle at a leisurely pace or in town, a looser-fitting, insulated jacket will suit you better.

GORE-TEX Infinium Windstopper

The main panel blocks out all wind, whilst allowing body heat and moisture to escape. Together with the taped seams, it keeps the rain out. The benefit: you get the protection of a wind jacket with the comfort of a jersey.

Breathable stretch panels

Under your arms and at the hem is a lightweight, stretchy nylon-elastane fabric. This allows heat to escape when you’re cycling hard, and ensures the jersey fits snugly around your body without flapping about.

360° reflectivity

Reflective details are featured all around the jersey. If you’re cycling early in the morning or late in the afternoon, this ensures you’re more visible to other road users.

Compatible with

• Road bikes and intensive training rides on the road, at temperatures between 5 and 12 °C.
• Dry to changeable weather with wind and the occasional shower.
• Cyclists who want a tight, sporty fit. Rapha produces this jersey in sizes XS to XXL.
• Colours: Black/Black, Bright Lime/Silver Reflective and Petrol Blue/Silver Reflective.

Less compatible with

• Prolonged rain: the jersey is water-repellent, not waterproof. You’ll need to take a rain jacket with you.
• Rides below 5 °C: the jersey offers little insulation, so you’ll need a lined winter jacket.
• Leisurely rides or commuting during your commute: the slim-fit racing cut is designed for a sporty riding position on a road bike.

• A laundry bag and an enzyme-free liquid detergent, to wash the jersey safely in the washing machine.

• Choose your base layer according to the temperature: a thin base layer for around 10 to 12 °C, a thermal base layer for around 5 °C.
• Are you going for a ride where there’s a chance of a heavy downpour? Then pop a foldable rain jacket into one of the three rear pockets.
• Have you noticed that rain no longer beads off the fabric? Wash the jersey and tumble-dry it at a low temperature, and the water-repellent coating will work again.
• Open the zip a little on a long climb; this allows you to quickly release heat without having to take the jersey off.
