GOREWEAR GORE-TEX Swiftride

The GOREWEAR GORE-TEX Swiftride is a versatile rain jacket for any ride. The fit is designed for all cycling styles and every type of bike, so whether you’re cycling to work, heading out for a gravel ride or going on a tour, this jacket is perfect for the occasion. And if you stop for a coffee, you’ll look just as good standing next to your bike.

The jacket is made from a GORE-TEX ePE laminate with a knitted polyester outer. It’s completely windproof and waterproof, whilst allowing sweat to escape. Thanks to its contoured fit, it’s comfortable whether you’re biking upright or leaning forward.

You can tailor the jacket perfectly to your ride. The Velcro on the sleeves lets you close the cuffs, the adjustable waist keeps the wind out at the bottom, and the full-length two-way zip allows you to ventilate from the top or the bottom. The two zipped hand-warmer pockets keep your hands warm, and you can pack the jacket away neatly into the left-hand pocket when the weather dries up.

The jacket weighs just 233 grams and is available in grey, in sizes S to XXL. The main fabric consists of 78% recycled polyester and 22% recycled nylon.

GORE-TEX ePE laminate

The fabric incorporates a new generation of GORE-TEX membrane, which is thinner and lighter than before. The membrane is full of tiny pores: much smaller than a raindrop, but larger than water vapour. This means rain stays out, whilst your sweat can escape. The outer layer is made of knitted polyester.

Contoured fit

The jacket is shaped to ensure a comfortable fit in any cycling position, from sitting upright on your city bike to leaning forward on your gravel bike. You can also move around easily in it when you’re off the bike.

Suitable for

• Every cycling style and every type of bike: commuting, gravel, touring and city rides.
• A warm layer underneath on cold days.
• Off the bike too: the jacket doesn’t look like typical cycling kit.

Not suitable for

• Cold rides without an extra layer: the jacket has no insulation.
• Fast road bike rides where you want a close-fitting road cycling jacket.

Not included, but useful

• A pair of rain trousers to keep your legs dry too
• A warm mid-layer for cold days

• Use the two-way zip to ventilate: open it a little from the bottom if you get too hot whilst climbing.
• Wash the jacket according to the care instructions on the label and close all zips and Velcro fastenings before putting it in the washing machine.
• Allow the jacket to dry thoroughly before packing it into the bag and storing it.
