Breathable 20-denier microfibre nylon
The fabric is thin and light but almost fully windproof thanks to its tight weave. Using Ristretto technology, Castelli has optimised the breathability so that you are protected from the wind but will not soon overheat when you start pedalling harder.
Two-way zip with Castelli scorpion logo
You can open the zip from the top for normal closure, or from the bottom for extra ventilation – or simply for a trendy look during a coffee stop. The zip puller features Castelli's recognisable scorpion.
Elasticated cuffs and waistband
Elastic is incorporated into the cuffs of the sleeves and the waistband. It keeps the jacket well in place while cycling without making it feel constrictive, and ensures a neat silhouette when you are wearing it off the bike.
- The fit is tailored (close-fitting) with a high collar that keeps draughts away from your neck.
- Pair the jacket with a short- or long-sleeved cycling jersey; the jacket is light enough to wear as an extra layer without overheating.
- For temperatures below 10°C, a thicker, insulated jacket such as the Perfetto Air W is a better option.
- Wash the jacket on a low-temperature cycle and leave to air-dry for best care of the elasticated cuffs.

No, this jacket is virtually windproof but not waterproof. It will keep you more or less dry in a light rain shower and from road spray, but in persistent rain you are better off wearing a jacket with a water-repellent or waterproof finish, such as the Perfetto Air W.

What is the difference between the Transition Air W and the Perfetto Air W cycling jackets?
Both are wind jackets by Castelli, but with different purposes. The current Transition Air W is very light (94 g), virtually windproof and designed as an easy-to-put-on extra layer for mild weather. The Perfetto Air W is a warmer, heavier-duty version with a PFAS-free water-repellent finish for colder and wetter rides.
Can I also wear the Transition Air women's cycling jacket off the bike?
