Fast tire, great grip and long life!

- Sven, 3 August, 2020

Very satisfied with these tires! They came standard on my new bike (25 mm clincers). Have now ridden 5000 km on my first set of 5000's, without a flat! Actually rear was up after ~ 4500 km, tire is somewhat flat and I don't see the pits of the wear indicators anymore, but front can still last a while. Have found when fitting new (latex) inner tubes that they go on my rims very easily, but maybe that is rim specific as I also read that they are difficult to get on rims.

Too tight, leaks quickly and takes away all your fun.

- Thom, 1 August, 2020

Do you always want to stand on the shoulder of the road, make a weekly splash with your Co2 pump and never get your tires properly on your rim? Then this is the tire for you! Since these folding tires, I have been puncturing both front and rear at least weekly. 16 times in three months to be exact. After I replaced them with p-zero's all the trouble was gone: never again a flat. These tires are so thin, if you look at them they are already flat. And warranty? Hell no. Lost a fortune on tubes and cartridges, not to mention the purchase price of these tires.

The best band ever!

- Vincent, 30 July, 2020

What a band! Incredibly good! The best band I have ever experienced! Tight through corners, with great grip and confidence. Fast on pace, due to a noticeably low rolling resistance; remarkably better than any other brand I have experienced before. I have to brake harder than before, due to the noticeably low rolling resistance. Never had a flat yet. The GP5000 comes highly recommended! This is the best tire for your road bike! With spot on number 1!

- Willem, 28 July, 2020

Excellent band

- Joris, 18 July, 2020

Very fast tire due to its low rolling resistance of +-11 watts at 8 bar. This gives it the lowest rolling resistance of any tube tire. The tires have great grip and ride very comfortably. Have the idea that at the same pressure the tires are much more comfortable than the GP4000II. No punctures so far, but have only ridden 200km. No damage to the tire.

- Marcel, 18 July, 2020

After years of riding Swalbe One (because my experience that they were better puncture resistant than the Grandprix II. Now the GP5000 and rolling resistance is outstanding, tangibly better than the Swalbe One. First 700km no punctures yet which was always the case with the Grandprix II. But it is summer and I am not overweight. They do not last as long is the estimation. But your legs will last longer....

28mm size not 28mm!

- Peter, 10 June, 2020

I loved the previous version the continental 4000s11, the speed and especially the comfort on knobbly Irish backroads. As this was fazed out I opted for the Grand Prix 5000.The new tyre is substantially smaller than the old 28mm which measured an oversize 30mm plus, the new one measures a scant 26 mm this may not sound like a lot but there is a huge visible difference in clearance on my Giant TCr Advanced 1 So what? The loss of volume means this tyre is a lot less comfortable than the old version. I am considering buying the 32 in the hope this is also undersized by a couple of mill and will fit into my frame.

Amazing tyres

- Thomas, 31 May, 2020

I finally wore through the stock tyres on my bike and needed replacements, I did have Continental GrandSport tyres but wanted to upgrade to the GP5000 tyres after hearing good reviews. Mantel had them at the best price and I’m really glad I bought them. The biggest thing for me is that they provide a superior ride quality to my old tyres, this was noticeable from the first few pedal strokes, they just smooth out the road and make riding a joy. Great grip and traction upon breaking too, I have a lot more confidence in my bike now.

I road these for the first time at the Worlds Sportive in Yorkshire and punctured first time out! Overall, the Continental GP5000’s are well made and live up to all the claims Continental has made. My only criticism is the fact the tyre Brad is extremely tight to the rim. I had to take it to a local bike shop to get it sorted.

Pros & Cons

Cool aesthetics
Durability
Grip
Lightweight
Bead is extremely tight to the rim
Need tire levers to fit
