Thule Roundtrip Road Bike Travel Case

Good bike case for train and car journeys, limited suitability for flights. Mounting stand included.

The bike case is a hybrid solution between a soft and hard shell case and attempts to combine the advantages of both worlds: - Small pack size, fits under the bed when empty - Offers protection against knocks and bumps This is achieved by splitting the side panels in two, which makes the case relatively easy to stow away. On the plane, however, I would check it in separately and not rely on the pure protection of the suitcase. The wheels, handlebars, stem and pedals have to be removed for transport. This is made easier by the integrated assembly stand; after removing the parts, the frame is simply inserted into the bag with the base of the assembly stand. For me, this is a good assembly stand for transporting road and gravel bikes, the system with the assembly stand is well thought out. The level of protection is sufficient for travelling by car and train, as well as by plane for special tasks. I see the somewhat lower level of protection compared to hardshell solutions as a drawback, as well as the somewhat poor protection of the brake discs.
