Description

Description

The Tacx Bushido Smart trainer allows you to train in your own specific way. It's entirely up to you to choose what training level you wish to combine with which training options. The Bushido Smart comes without a head unit, as you can connect your own preferred device instead, for instantly by pairing your smartphone or tablet. New is the open ANT+ FE-C protocol, which allows third party software to control the trainer via ANT+. This allows you to train using software like ZWIFT, Kinomap, or VirtualTraining.

Wireless Smart Turbo Trainer

The Bushido Smart is fitted with a strong electric brake which can offer up to 1400 watts of resistance. This enables the trainer to simulate gradients of up to 15%. An electric brake is an advanced braking system controlled by software and capable of providing you with a realistic cycling feel. The new Bushido has an electronic flywheel over the old Bushido's physical one. This makes the trainer 2 kg lighter and provides you with an even more realistic cycling feel. The trainer uses both ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart to communicate with external devices. The included Skyliner front wheel support raises your front wheel to the same level as the rear.

Good once you get going.

Took a while to set up. Signal kept failing on zwift. After a bit of trouble shooting and buying a usb cable extension to get the ant+ closer to the unit it's now working perfect. Really happy with the unit.

Pros & Cons

Great with zwift
Portable
You would really notice the change in gradient
Took a while to connect

Great Turbo Trainer for those winter months

- Andy 23 October 2016

The Bushido arrived well packaged and with prompt delivery. It pretty much works straight out of the box, only having to swop out the axel. Once fitted though i found it extremely frustrating trying to get the wheel to be in the correct position on the runner. The instruction gave no advice on how to do it. It was either too far away or too close. I ended up looking on youtube at other manufacturers as to how to do it and eventually got it. Once up and running the connection was quick and easy and its great to be able to see the distance cycled whilst indoors. The auto resistance when following films is a great feature and really helps vary the workout. I'm currently going through the trial with Zwift which is great to be able to cycle round various locations and with other riders.

Pros & Cons

Great with Zwift
Instant connection
Attaching the wheel was frustrating
