Pros & Cons
Pros & Cons
- As hard brake pads retain their braking power on long descents and in wet conditions, they are ideal for use in the hills and mountains.
- The new fit for 4-piston brake calipers reduces rattling and keeps the pads securely in place.
- The cooling fins keep the temperature of the brake pads low and, therefore, reduce power loss on long descents.
- Metal brake pads squeak a bit louder and engage later than soft pads.

Hard and wear-resistant thanks to the sintered compound
In sintered brake pads, the compound consists of resin mixed with metal particles and, as a result, is very hard and wear-resistant. Sintered brake pads are also highly resistant to the high temperatures that may occur while cycling, particularly on long descents. A disadvantage is that these brake pads take longer to engage than organic or semi-metallic brake pads, and make more noise when braking.
So, these brake pads are an ideal choice if you will be cycling in very muddy conditions where you need to brake frequently - which will happen a lot on hilly or mountainous terrain. These brake pads are also absolutely suitable for downhill, enduro and muddy cyclo-cross rides in winter.
Not compatible with all disc brake rotors!
These hard brake pads are not compatible with all disc brake rotors. They can only be used with machined disc brake rotors, as these are made of a harder material. Pressed, soft disc brake rotors will wear out quickly when used with these hard pads.
