Good tyre but not recommended with inner tube

- Mathieu, 19 June, 2025

For about 1200km, I was very satisfied; feels fast and comfortable! However, then the best seemed off and puncture resistance was completely gone. Five punctures at 220km (4x rear, 1x front, 4 TPU, 1 butyl). Found the hole and pebble each time, so not just badly checked. My conclusion must therefore be that this one is not 'tubeless ready', but 'tubeless mandatory'. The thinner construction than the standard GP5000 does not adequately protect inner tubes after some distance. Sealant would presumably have sealed the holes in the outer tyre.

Pros & Cons

Comfortable
Feels fast
Sounds good with high rims
Awkward installation
Puncture resistance with inner tube

Good performance, lousy puncture protection.

- Christian, 21 January, 2024

Having already ordered a tyre of this type elsewhere and found it to be good after a test ride, I ordered a second one here. Also because the manufacturer's website advertises the oh-so-great puncture protection. Unfortunately, after putting the first tyre on, I got two punctures on gritted cycle paths. Puncture protection is close to zero. I didn't even fit the second tyre. Certainly good for perfectly asphalted paths without grit, but not a tyre for the city in winter.

Performance tire but less firm than predecessor.

- Sam, 1 August, 2022

I went through 2 punctures with this tire on short notice (within 300km). Initially the sealant (Stan's Notubes) did its job but eventually I had to screw in a rubber thread to get some extra mileage out of it. Because the tire is very thin, sealant and a plug cannot really work efficiently and punctures are basically the end of the story for this tire. The 5000TL was much better in this respect but unfortunately no longer available.

Pros & Cons

easy to mount
low rolling resistance
not as puncture resistant as predecessor 5000TL

Top tire for course days

- Eddy, 3 December, 2021

Think more for summer and dry rides the tire I rode for a 25mm at 62 psi and 70 in the rear the tire behaves great on wet rides but after 1000km still a lot of flint or sharp pebbles remain in the rubber absolutely out or flat the next ride.

Pros & Cons

Comfort
Fast on low pressure
Grip
After a few rides in the rain lots of cuts.
Maybe too soft after 1200km already 3 punctures .
