As with Shimano's XT M8100 and SLX M7100 cranksets, mounting this crankset and its chainrings is a breeze. Shimano uses Direct Mount technology with the M6100 crankset. This means that you can remove the chainrings with one lockring, instead of having to unscrew all sorts of bolts. This not only saves a lot of time, but reduces the chance of a creaking crank and increases the rigidity of the crankset.
