In the world of mountain biking 11-speed is a new phenomenon. We saw bikes with a single chainring a year or two ago for the first time in World Cup races. The XX1 is only available with a single chainring. The biggest advantage is the total weight of your group. The risk of your chain jumping off is also smaller. The derailleur has, just like the existing XX group, Type 2 technology. This is a mechanism that absorbs the shock of the chain. This prevents the chain from spontaneously jumping to another gear wheel, or even jumping off. The range of gears is 420 percent on the XX1. This makes the group suitable for cross country races without extreme climbing. In comparison, the range of the existing XX group with two blades is 496 percent. A triple gives a range of 656 percent.
