The Elitewheels Marvel 60V road bike wheelset for rim brakes has been designed mainly for use on flat roads. With its wide, 60 mm high rims, the set maximises aerodynamics without compromising on agility or wind sensitivity. The Elitewheels Marvel 60V carbon wheelset is an affordable option for road bikes with rim brakes, and offers very good, durable quality. Although this is an entry-level wheelset from the Elitewheels range, it does have specs you won't often find in this price range.

The rims can, impressively, handle temperatures up to 270 degrees, to guarantee your safety when you're braking during long or steep descents. This wheelset has 28 mm wide, 60 mm high rims and weighs a mere 1695 grams. Its bearings have ceramic balls, resulting in durability and a low rolling resistance. These wheels have been tested extensively and come with extremely reliable Pillar RVS spokes. The Marvel 60V wheelset has been aerodynamically optimised for tyres with a width between 25 to 28 mm, and feels incredibly stable in high-wind conditions thanks to the U-shaped rim.

Rims
The Marvel wheelset was designed at Elitewheels to meet the needs of recreational cyclists. In contrast with the aluminium rims found on most road bikes, Marvel wheels are stronger, more rigid, more aerodynamic and a lot more lightweight. In fact, wheels play the most important role in a bike's aerodynamics. Decreasing the weight of the rims reduces the rotating weight, which results in a more agile feel and faster acceleration, in contrast to reducing weight elsewhere on the bike.

Spokes
Choosing the right spokes to build a wheel is essential. Elitewheels has chosen to use Pillar PA 1423 RVS spokes. These spokes are cold forged, making them stronger than regular spokes. They can withstand a large pulling force and enable a maximum weight of 130 kilograms.

Hubs
The Elitewheels Marvel wheelset has rims with a high flange, resulting in a high lateral rigidity and improved stability. Both the front and rear wheel hubs feature semi-ceramic bearings with an extremely low friction coefficient, saving you valuable power. The front hub has 6803 semi-ceramic bearings, while the rear hub uses three 6803 bearings and one 6903 bearing. The larger the bearing, the better its rigidity.

Semi-ceramic
The Marvel 60V's front hub has two 6803 semi-ceramic bearings, while the rear hub uses three 6803 bearings and one 6903 bearing. These large bearings provide better durability than standard bearings. The use of large semi-ceramic bearings results in a more efficient bike, saving you valuable power.

Braking surface
The Marvel 60V uses a resin mixture which can withstand temperatures up to 270 ℃, developed by Elitewheels itself. Plus, Japanese Toray T800 carbon fibre was used for the braking surface. The resulting heat resistance provides excellent braking performance, even on long, steep descents. The braking surface also features laser-etched grooves to drain away water, enabling safe and consistent braking in wet conditions.

Tubeless
All wheelsets produced by Elitewheels are tubeless ready and come with preinstalled tubeless rim tape. Every rim features a unique, tubeless R-angle design, making installation easier. Fitting tubeless tyres is even easier because the rims come with special mounting edges, so you can inflate your tubeless tyres even with a floor pump.
