Maxxis Forekaster EXO TLR

Good all-rounder
Fine front tire, icm an Aspen or Rekon Race a nice all-round combo. Too bad that 2.4 is actually 2.3 here (59mm instead of 61). Niggling at the margins, but still.

Very happy with it!
Put this tyre on the front and back of the bike (not tubeless yet) and I experienced a world of difference compared to the ikon. On the ikon I had a lot of sliding on the wetter trails and that seems to be 90% less now. Very happy with the choice of these tyres.

Do-it-all tire.
Do-it-all option at an affordable price. This is one excellent tire with low rolling resistance and outstanding grip.

Top band, stayer
Use on a souped-up e mtb. Great tyre, lots of grip and does not wear out very quickly. Approx 1 year of use.

Very good tyre for terrain
On soft ground, plenty of grip and, of course, on asphalt, a bit more rolling resistance.

Decent tyre at a good price with good service from Mantel
Compared to other heavier tyres, this Forekaster tyre rolls well. It doesn't feel draggy at all. Decent grip and no wash outs like the Hans Dampf I replaced.

Successful purchase
My experience has been positive, in all aspects, always bearing in mind that it is mounted on the front wheel.

A true all-rounder
This tyre really exudes quality. If you grip the tyre at all, you can feel that this is a very good rubber compound. Currently I use the tyre front and rear and it lifts me effortlessly over wet tree stumps, cuts through mud or keeps its track in loose sand. The studs are less aggressive than you might suspect, however, the grip is top notch, while it is a fine fast tyre. A real all-rounder! In summer, an Ikon will go on the back, but as the paths are now, a bit more grip on the back would be nice. I ride the 2.2 version and that size is right. Is more than fine for Dutch routes. Weight of the tyre is a neat 693 grams.

Average, a bit disappointing
Bought this tyre as all rounder for muddy and wet forest trails. Mud clearance just average, suffers in rainy days on muddier terrain. Better on gravel, traction on asphalt could also be better. Tried in combination with Nobby Nic, no comparison between the two (separate review). Just average, not worth the price, on balance would not recommend as all rounder. On the positive side sturdy and resistant to puncture (so far).

Efficiency
Excellent tyres on greasy terrain, fairly rolling for a winter tyre.

The optimal tyre for in the mud.
It is really a tyre for in mud with loose ground and forest trails. The tyre's soft rubber gives you good grip and releases the mud well from the tyre. Rolling resistance is low and the tyre is easy to mount. The tyre can be used with or without an inner tube.
