Shimano XC70 MTB Shoes

This is the Shimano XC70 MTB shoe. The front section of the sole is fitted with optimally shaped spikes and studs, arranged in an ideal pattern to maximise traction. The outsole features mud-shedding polyurethane studs, which allow the shoe and the pedal to provide the best performances. Sole stiffness is optimised through a layered structure that offers the ideal rigidity for XC racing.

The SH-XC70 features a carbon-composite midsole and, in the front section, a carbon-composite insert plate. Toe spikes can be swapped out according to the riding environment. On dry, solid rocks, use the resin type. When you need more traction, like in muddy conditions or in loose sand, choose the metal-tipped XC spikes. the heel cup of the SH-XC70 is integrated with the sole and fits the shape of the heel. It stabilises the heel and holds your foot firmly in place. The top layer is made of synthetic leather: more lightweight, tougher and more durable than real leather, great protection and excellent durability.

The Shimano XC70 is equipped with Shimano's Custom Fit technology, for a perfect custom fit of the upper section. The shoe also features a new Cross X Strap closure system. The Cross X straps have been moved to the side of the shoe and are optimised for relieving pressure on the top of the foot during push off motion. A pair of SH-XC70 shoes weighs 632 grams (size 40) and is the most compatible with the PD-M980 pedal.
