Tacx Flux Smart T2900

Easy setup and very quiet
Bought this to replace my old Tacx magnetic trainer as I wanted something “smart”. Having considered saving some money and getting another magnetic trainer (but this time a smart one) I’m pleased I paid a bit extra for this. Very quiet and far more like riding a real bike. Also no need to go changing tyres and the like. Has connected perfectly to Zwift, Tacx and Suferfest apps. Only thing I’m disappointed with is the 30 day trial of Tacx app which is a bit hopeless compared to the others out there. Great price from Mantel - miles cheaper than any UK price and I just need a replacement computer/kettle plug for it to work

Very good for the price
Was looking for a smart turbo trainer for ages, but hard to find due to the sudden demand from the lockdown. This was only a bit more than wheel on turbos and I've really been loving using it

Bargain price from Mantel
First time I’ve purchased from Mantel and certainly would be the last. Speedy dispatch, great customer service and ridiculously good prices. The tacx flux is a great trainer especially at the price from Mantel, the tacx software on the app has been a bit dodgy to be honest but the turbo is well made, very quiet and good resistance when climbing.

Value for money and great to train on over the winter months
Other than a problem getting it linked up, my daughter already benefited from using it in a short period of time. Let's hope it continues.

Great bit of kit!
Brilliant way to keep getting the hours on the bike even when it’s -2c and raining and you just don’t want to go outside! Must be said, this is the first time I’ve heard used Mantel, credit to you, super fast on delivery and got everything thing I wanted first time with no issues!

Awesome smart trainer for beginners
The winter has came :) It is awesome, especially if you are beginner and dont want to waste fortune on smart trainer. You don't have to switch tires or anything, it's always ready for you. I didn't even think it will be so awesome during winter. I'm using it with Trainer Road.

First turbo
Was looking for direct drive lower budget to do suitable indoor training with minimal noise and without tyre wear. This ticks all the boxes although I did have to order a separate through axle (as well as the cassette) which it didn't come with as it didn't fit my ribble disc. Happy so far and hopefully will last a long time

Good trainer at this price point
For the price this trainer has so far been pretty good. The set up via the Tacx app was straghtforward and calibration was easy. I've been using constantly on Zwift so can't comment on the Tacx training app. You will need to install a cassette which is not really a issue as this trainer does not come with one. Also once set up it does not have folding legs and its heavy which it should be so moving around and storing away when not in use is difficult but if its in a pain cave and won't be moved regularly its fine. I found the flux quiet which is a real bonus for me as its used inside the house and the only real noise is gears changing and chain noise so big thumbs up for that! Ive heard reports of some models having belt issues and having to be returned but fingers crossed its all ok for me at the moment so I'm hoping that's earlier models and Tacx have sorted this for up to date models. Yes there are better options out there with bigger max power and steeper gradients etc but that's going to cost you a few extra hundred quid so you will need to decide if that's really important to you but in all honesty who bangs out over 1500 watts. If using this in the UK you will need a plug adapter as it comes with a European 2 pin and I didn't realise when I ordered mine it came from the Netherlands but all credit to Mantel it arrived in 3 days with detailed tracking and a price which was excellent. The trainer is also stable so when doing hard sprints out of the saddle it doesn't move or rock which gives you confidence to really give it some welly when trying to hit big watts and out of the saddle steep climbs. Talking of watts the flux is very accurate when compared to a quarq power meter with a difference of 1-1.5% in all power ranges so kudos to the flux All in all if you want to spend under £500 for a turbo trainer get good accurate readings and your not going to store it away and having to be constantly moving it I think its a great buy and some £150-£200 less than most models and brands in the mid range of trainers
