Schwalbe Marathon Mondial

Fine tyre, just sucks around my WTB rims.
Fine tyre, and never had a puncture with it either. But I have 2 disadvantages, a big one and a small one. The small disadvantage: the tyre rolls heavily, but I knew that. The big disadvantage: the tyre doesn't fit my WTB rim at all, tyre and rim are no match. This has not been a problem before with any tyre (2x WTB folding tyre, Continental wire tyre), but the Mondial folding tyre seems to have too large a diameter for the rim. 3 pieces tried, but always hassle. Both with changing and riding, because the folding bead doesn't sit nicely in the rim.

Topper on paved and unpaved surfaces
Tyre is a bit chunkier than expected after all. But its width does make it very comfortable. Tyre gives confidence and steers well even on unpaved roads. Does suffer a bit from ruts.

fine tyre volume larger than the same tyre that was on the bike.

Super tires for even more cycling fun
I didn't know that tires could make such a difference in comfort. Bumpy roads are now no longer a torment. The tires steer smoothly, and yet I feel I have less rolling resistance. I have not yet tested them with luggage, but am confident that they will perform well even then. Getting them onto the rim was a challenge, though, compared to old-fashioned tires with such a solid rim.

Fine feeling a reliable band
Cycled to Rome with it last vacation, had zero flat tires, lots of gravel and forest trails.

good road tyres
Mounted on a Cannondale Trigger 29 mountain bike. Good tyre compound for road use. Quiet, very good road handling, responsive braking, light steering. Not yet tried on the road

So much nicer, should have done it earlier.
My electric bike Spartamet came with tyres of 37 x 622. In loose sand, steering was difficult. Now I have much better grip and steering power. Also, the wide tyre 50 x 622 springs more because you can take the tyre pressure at 3 bar. The bike shop thought it couldn't be done because the tyre is higher, but it works.

Excellent touring tyres
I've been using this tyre for three years now, and for me there's no equivalent.

The tyre of my dreams in every respect!
My 42-622 VTC is rolling like a dream again, and I have the impression that my bike is phenomenally light. In the forest, on paths that are a little sandy or muddy, it grips without a problem. Combined with Michelin PROTEK tubes, I'm sure I won't get a puncture on top of these already protected tyres.

What is that anyway, (anti-)LEK?
I have never had any other brand but Schwalbe on all the bikes I have ridden over the past 10 years, on mtb (Rocket Ron, Nobby Nic) several thousand , hybrid sporty city bike (Marathon Supreme) 10-12 thousand km., the Postbike Pro (heavily loaded, over 8000 km. has been sold, may still be riding now) and the tandem (Marathon Mondial) which has already reached mileage 13,300 now and quietly continues to do its job well! Must add that I handle it with care (no kerbs and look far ahead, so you can avoid glass splinters) and the bikes are always well polished and inspected and stored indoors, so no direct uv light gets to them. But LEK? Not in my vocabulary.

A solid tyre that does what it promises and lets you hit the road worry-free
The tyre comes compact in a special box. You easily fold it into its shape and with a bit of grip around the wheel, it also fits well. While cycling, I had no problems with it. Occasionally it is useful to use tweezers to remove sharp bits (pebbles and glass) because they get stuck in the profile. This reduces the chances of a puncture.
