Good light with limitations

- FerVR, 16 December, 2022

Good light very compact and well finished. Connected without problem to the Garmin and can be controlled from it. The light promises to see you further than necessary (2 kilometers). The battery well and if it gets dirty easily washable. However, it has some drawbacks. The load is by microUSB, something old and. It only comes with a hitch of the brand, if it breaks or you lose it badly, it does not bring the classic easily replaceable rubber bands. On the other hand, if you plan to attach it to a rack, saddle or any other place than the seatpost, I doubt it will fit well. The provided attachment is by and for the seatpost.

Pros & Cons

Compact
Connectivity with Garmin
Many modes
Designed to accompany the seatpost
Not very replaceable fastening

Good light!

- Bartel, 2 May, 2022

Find it important to be seen by motorists, even during the day, which succeeds with this light! Battery life is gone after a year of daily use! If you charge a Garmin computer it makes contact itself and the light is flashing all over and is not charged in the morning, small flaw but can be set via the app. Had the previous model also and this one was good too, button is broken after 2 years though.

Pros & Cons

Perfect light!

It's going well, I like it

- Francisco, 4 April, 2022

It has a good light, it lasts a lot, before I could put it in fixed mode to be seen during the day, now I can't, I don't know why, it stays on flashing but in low light.

Effective even from a distance, lacks saddle rail attachment

- Christian, 26 September, 2021

I can be seen from a distance thanks to this flare rt. I would have appreciated a more aesthetic attachment to the saddle rail than the rubber attached to the tube.

Pros & Cons

Easy to attach
High daytime visibility
Small size
No seat rail attachment
No side visibility

Better safe than sorry :)

- Alexander, 13 September, 2021

Very bright, small and light tail light. I like it very much and some colleagues have already repurchased it for me. Unfortunately, the battery charge level is displayed incorrectly when pairing with Garmin or the message battery level low comes too early as a result. Also the matching front light ION 200 is top.

Pros & Cons

easy
small
very good visibility
Charge level display on the Garmin faulty

Safety first

- Hippo, 10 September, 2021

Even though the flashing function is not approved in Germany, it has an effect. Cars keep a much greater distance and are more likely to wait to overtake until there is more space.

Pros & Cons

bright
cars keep more distance
Control via Garmin
small
Battery a bit weak

Good product at a comparatively sophisticated price.

- Christian, 30 June, 2021

Luminosity is - as expected - super. Adjustment options / configuration exceed my expectations. Helmet compatibility to the Bontrager helmet was the reason for purchase. However, is fixed only with magnet = risk of loss is high

Pros & Cons

magnetic fixation on helmet
quite high price

Very good light but pairing with Garmin is not fine

- Gijs, 29 December, 2020

It took quite a bit of effort to pair the Flare with my Garmin Edge 830 . And once paired it doesn't actually work fine. Once you start a ride it always forces light even during the day and this is very irritating for people riding behind you because it flashes very brightly. And it's very difficult to turn it off right then. And recently during a ride in the dark I get the message on my Garmin: battery low. Right after this notification, a motorcycle cop drove next to me and fined me because the taillight didn't work! So this does not work well either. I now disconnected the light from my Garmin and it does exactly what you want it to do: give good bright light and blink or steady light when you want. What is really good is that this lamp burns very brightly!

Pros & Cons

bright light
compact
good fastening
coupling with Garmin
expensive

Bright, practical light for my Bontrager helmet.

- Guido, 23 December, 2020

I have the light on my Bontrager helmet.it can be switched in different lighting levels. The control via the Garmin app I have not yet tried. The price is not exactly cheap. As helmet lighting, the light is sufficient.you should use it but only use as additional lighting.

Pros & Cons

sufficient as helmet lighting
high price
