fine pants next to Castelli's polare

- Tom, 19 January, 2023

The fit is a lot better than the Castelli Polare, this Assos has a perfect fit and does not 'flutter'. If you enter your measurements on the Assos site you will get a good indication of the right size. Castelli size L, Assos is M good. Also the lack of a zipper at the ankles is a good choice, with the Polare there is always some cold coming in through the ankle zippers, you don't have that problem with these Assos. I find the Castelli chamois a lot more comfortable, it rubs a bit, but that could also be because I am not used to this one. In terms of term temperature range I think the Polare from Castelli is just a bit warmer, I wonder if this Assos is still comfortable under -2.

Pros & Cons

perfect fit
snug around ankles
Castelli chamois is missed

The ultimate winter trousers for any temperature.

- Nils, 12 December, 2021

As most people are used to with assos trousers, you pay full price for them but what you get in return is always more than worth it. these trousers are really extremely warm so for most of the winter they are actually a bit overkill(not that I mind). they are also good water and windproof. The fit and length are also perfect.
