Pros
Thanks to a combination of low weight and a 45 mm half-high rim, the Zipp 303 Firecrest Tubeless Rim Brake wheels are all-rounders. |
Tubeless tyres can be fitted to the rims with or without inner tubes. This makes it possible to ride tubeless, with advantages such as lower rolling resistance, better grip and more comfort. |
The Zipp ZR1 hubs, developed in Germany, have bearings with a good seal and improved durability. The 6 pawl body engages super quick, resulting in minimal energy loss when the rider starts pedaling. |
The Zipp ShowStopper brake surface ensures smooth braking in both wet and dry weather. |
Lifelong guarantee covering all manufacturing errors, excepting wear and tear. Ultimate certainty! |
The low weight of 1447 in combination with the 45mm deep rim, makes the Scope R4 wheels a very good all-round wheel set that is absolutely on par with the Zipp 303. |
Thanks to the Algorithm Enhanced Aerodynamics technology, the rim is optimised to achieve the optimal and most aerodynamic rim profile. |
The Diamond Ratchet Body system is extremely light and ensures that the power delivered is transferred to the wheel even faster. |
The pre-mounted tubeless rim tape makes the wheels tubeless in a flash, increasing comfort, lowering rolling resistance and increasing puncture resistance. |
Scope wheels are developed in the Netherlands in cooperation with Schwalbe, SKF, TU Eindhoven and TU Delft, so high quality is guaranteed. |
All-round climbing wheels with 38 mm high rims. Carbon wheelset for rim brakes, weighing in at a mere 1533 mm. |
The rims are 28 mm wide for extra comfort, an aerodynamic advantage and a stable feeling when cycling in windy conditions. |
Strong, durable Pilar straight-pull spokes with an immediate power transfer and a reduced chance of spokes breaking. |
This set uses semi-ceramic bearings for a low rolling resistance and a maximum power gain. |
The internal 17 mm rim width is compatible with tyres between 23 and 33 mm wide. |
The Campagnolo Bora WTO 45 wheels are of top quality and excel in aerodynamics, weight and stiffness. |
The AC3 brake rim ensures good braking performance in all conditions comparable to aluminium rims. |
The 19mm internal rim width makes it possible to ride with outer tubes from 23 to 30 mm. The wide tyres provide more comfort and low rolling resistance. |
The G3 spoke pattern saves weight by using fewer spokes and provides better power transfer. |
The 2-Way Fit rim profile allows for both tubeless and folding tyres and inner tubes. |
Cons
Due to the carbon rim brake structure, this wheel is less suitable for long mountain descents, with a risk of blowouts or rim deformation. |
No wheel bags or brake discs are included when buying a wheelset. |
A body for Sram XDR, Campagnolo or Campagnolo N3W is available separately. |
The 17 mm internal rim width lags behind the trends somewhat, but you can still fit 23 mm tyres on these wheels. |
For an even more aerodynamic set, you should take a look at the Campagnolo Bora WTO 60 wheels. |
The carbon braking surface makes this wheel less suitable for long mountain descents with the risk of a blowout or rim deformation. |
