Hypotonic Sports Drink

You use a hypotonic sports drink when you want to hydrate yourself during your bike ride. A hypotonic sports drink contains a lower salt level than the salt level in your blood. This way you can quench your thirst and you get some extra energy during your ride. Over time you will lose salt because you perspire, which can cause you to feel faint or weak. Hypotonic sports drink is therefore suitable for bicycle rides where you perspire less, for example when it is a bit colder. On warmer days when you perspire a lot an isotonic sports drink is better.
