X-Range technology ensures you get a more efficient drive by moving shift range from the crank to the cassette. SRAM has designed the cassette and crankset in such a way that there are smaller but more consistent intervals between gears. This also allows for a larger gear range. All in all, this allows you to continue riding on the same front chainring and to shift up and down more smoothly.
