Shimano XT M8200 MTB Wheels

The strong and reliable XT M8200 wheel set is designed for trail and enduro use but can certainly also be used as a solid cross-country set. The wide aluminium rims can accommodate wide tyres, and the hubs have been completely redesigned.

Rims
The aluminium rims have a 30 mm inner width and a 35 mm outer width, allowing for tyre sizes from 2.3 to 2.6 inches. The rims have an asymmetric profile to absorb the asymmetric forces that hit the wheels as easily as possible. In this way, spoke tension is better balanced on both sides, keeping the wheels straight for longer. The rims are tubeless-ready, allowing you to prepare them for use without inner tubes in no time.

Hubs
The hubs in the XT wheels have also been completely redesigned. After having used the adjustable cup & cone bearings for a very long time, Shimano has now decided to switch to industrial bearings. These have effective seals for high durability and easy maintenance. The freehub has a very small engagement of 3.5 degrees, which means you can release your power well on technical terrain where you often have to pedal briefly.

Microspline body
The rear wheel has a Shimano Microspline body which is only compatible with Shimano 12-speed cassettes. As this type of body prevents the cassette from biting into the freehub, it is easy to dismount at any time. The body engages very quickly and accurately thanks to a renewed freehub with a very fast engagement of 3.5 degrees.

The Microspline freehub is compatible with all Shimano 12-speed mountain bike cassettes.
