Do you want to bring out the best in yourself on challenging and fast MTB trails? Then the Shimano XC702 are the perfect MTB shoes for you.
Several features are responsible for the superior and comfortable fit of the Shimano XC702. The upper part of this MTB shoe features Shimano's Surround Wrapping. This means that the entire foot is wrapped in a seamless piece of leather. This way, a better fit is created with fewer gaps between shoe and foot. Not just one, but two separate BOA IP6 locks ensure a perfect and fast fit. Your feet will stay firmly and securely in place. Even when mountain biking, you can use the BOA fasteners safely and responsibly.
Upper part made of synthetic leather and mesh
The upper of the Shimano XC702 is made of supple synthetic leather and mesh. These materials also contribute significantly to the superior fit and high wearing comfort of these MTB shoes. There combination of perforations in the synthetic leather and the mesh material provide improved ventilation. This reduces the chance of your feet overheating.
Nylon-reinforced midsole and outsole with good grip
The Shimano XC702 is equipped with a lightweight nylon midsole, which is reinforced with carbon. This way, a higher stiffness is ensured (stiffness index: 9) and the power transfer to the pedals is improved. In addition, this MTB shoe is equipped with Shimano Dynalast. This refers to a superior shoe design with a springy toe area. Thanks to Shimano Dynalast, pedalling is smoother and power transfer to the pedals is more efficient. The lightweight ULTREAD rubber outsole provides long-lasting competition-grade grip, which comes in handy during challenging and fast trails.
Pick out and switch your spikes
Men who go mountain biking with the Shimano XC702 shoes can choose which spikes they want to use and change them if necessary. This allows you to adjust these MTB shoes to your riding style and the conditions.
In order to help you, as best we can, to choose the right size shoe we have measured all the shoes ourselves. All that's left for you to do is measure your own foot length, and we'll tell you which shoe size per brand suits you best. Does your foot length in mm not appear on the relevant product's page? Then that particular shoe is not available in a size that suits your foot length.
You can easily measure your foot length using an A4 sheet of paper, placed on the floor against a wall. Stand with one foot on the piece of paper, with your heel against the wall. Draw a line above your big toe (or above the index toe if that is longer). Now mark your other foot on the paper in the same way. Measure both - the measurement of your longest foot is your foot length in mm's! Please note: some manufacturers have their own measuring system, and as a result what appears on the shoebox can deviate from what we have measured.
What shoe size you need can differ per brand. This is because certain brands wear larger or smaller. To help you get the perfect fit, we've also classified the shoes as narrow, average, or wide fit. Read all about it in our blog!

Rigid and comfortable
Mainly bought to have wider shoes (I was already on Shimano before), and with finer adjustment (two BOA), with the aim of being ultimately more comfortable over long distances than with my basics before.... Seems to be doing the job ....

Great shoe
Had good advice in shop, found fine shoe after a long search. I like the shoe very much. Gives good support and forces are transferred well by the stiff sole. Despite a considerable outlay for what I am used to, I am very happy I bought this shoe.

Top shoes for the second time again!
Had these shoes before, switched to Northwave in between but still come back to these because fit better, closure works better.

Super nice shoe, too bad mantle doesn't sell half sizes of it
They fall very small. Normally I am a size 44 or 44.5. Size 45 of this shoe was too small, size 46 too big. Clerk in the shop advised me to take size 46 as shimano would not have half sizes. At another shop they were available so unfortunately had to buy elsewhere.
